Little Tern Cottage, Aldeburgh

A lovely cosy base to explore the delights of the area. I would happily recommend Little Tern Cottage to anyone looking for a break in Aldeburgh. Little Tern was perfect for a short break for the four of us (couple + kids 6 and 8 years). It was a cosy, well equipped cottage (kids books and games provided, kitchen with everything required), and was in good condition. The third bedroom is really small, but our eldest was delighted with his cosy room, and the main bedroom has plenty space for a baby cot if required (also the stairs / steps in the house can be toddler proofed easily through closing internal doors). We’d love to return.

Loved staying at Little Tern Cottage. Such a lovely property which was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. We didn’t have any problems at all but Emma was kind enough to let us know the property was ready before we were expecting which was a bonus. Location was perfect on the quieter end of the High Street but close to everything. Lovely little courtyard garden perfect for our small dog. Definitely will stay here again.

Had a great few nights away at this lovely cottage situated in a perfect position at the end of the very nice High St. The cottage was exactly as described and had everything you need for a nice family break away. The hosts at Aldeburgh coastal cottages supplied us with all the information we needed, although we didn’t have any problems, I’m certain they would have been very contactable. No off street parking – which would normally bother me, but after reading previous reviews I agree it wasn’t an issue at all! We enjoyed walks on the beach with our Cockapoo, and nice meals in some of the local pubs (all dog friendly!) A visit to Southwold with its pier and lovely Sandy beach is a must (dogs only allowed at the very end by the dunes) Overall I would recommend this cottage, the area in general, and would definitely return. Thank you!

Beautiful and cosy cottage in great location. Kitchen was fully equipped and had a lovely big table to play games on – which was very handy on the one rainy day of our stay. Living room had two comfy large sofas and a gas fire which kept us super toasty. The cottage is perfectly located just down from the bustle of the high street so is an easy walk to all shops, pubs, restaurants and the beach. Perfect spot for a seaside break at any time of the year.

The cottage is so comfortable, the sofas are divine. Amazing location on the edge of the beach and adjacent fields are perfect for dog walks. Small but quaint and private garden. Shops and restaurants in Aldeburgh are a 10-15 walk. Can’t fault this place.

We had a lovely stay at Little Tern Cottage as a family of four (including toddler and a baby). We loved the cute traditional style and it was really well equipped for us. We were able to enjoy walks around the town from the great location and also go further afield on the car to explore Suffolk. The agency was very helpful and responsive for queries during our stay. We would definitely stay again.

We’ve just spent a very comfortable week in Little Tern Cottage. Cosy, clean and well equipped, with a pretty, peaceful courtyard garden, and lovely spacious living room. The cottage is close to the beach and at the quieter end of the High Street, which was perfect given it was carnival week while we were there – a great haven away from the hubbub.

This is a fabulous holiday cottage. It is wonderfully located, sparklingly clean and very comfortable to live in with a great shower and everything needed in the kitchen. We never struggled with parking on street, although the car park at the end of the road has plenty of room if needed and is very cheap. We will be back!

Cosy cottage, perfect location! My husband and I stayed here with our 1 year old baby and dog recently. We booked through Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages, they were very helpful with the booking and arranged everything for us including a high chair for our baby. The cottage was clean tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location – one road from the seafront and on the main High St – quiet end of the street and just a short walk to the shops pubs etc. We had a delicious lunch at Regatta on the High St and coffee pastries from Two Magpies bakery – excellent! Cross Keys pub great for a drink. We also to get on street parking outside our cottage (free of charge). Aldeburgh is a lovely location for long weekend or mid week break. You can park up and just enjoy the historic coastal town or drive to nearby Thorpeness for a boat ride on the Meare or visit Southwold for Sandy beach.

Great location for the beach and high street – unbelievably close to both – barely couple of minutes walk. Parking on street – which was fine in December – but very close public car park anyway. Very clean, modern, and very efficient hosts. Small house but perfect for our needs -good outdoor space for puppy to get out to, great to have separate toilet downstairs as well as bathroom upstairs. Spacious double, 2 small singles but perfectly fine for a short stay (even with older children like us – age 15 and 11). Nespresso machine, everything you need in a kitchen – even a small dishwasher! I would very much recommend this cottage!!

Great location, easy to access the high street and the beach but very quiet at the same time. Loved spending the evenings in the beautiful living room. The beds were very comfortable, good quality mattresses! 3rd bedroom was a little small/snug (we had a 4 year old in there and he liked it) and the outside space is more for a coffee than a full blown garden.

As always the Little Tern Cottage is the perfect home from home. With perfect location, close to the sea and amenities. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed trips out to Southwold, Thorpeness, Orford, Leiston, Saxmundham and Shape. Our favourite place other than Aldeburgh has to be Southwold. It has such a beautiful beach. We enjoyed meals out at Crosskeys and The Mill Inn. Also enjoyed the amazing fish and chips on the high street. Our dog also enjoyed his stay and long walks in and around Aldeburgh. We are now looking forward to booking our fourth trip back to this lovely cottage, in this beautiful location.
