A superb find! My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week in Thorpeness, staying at The Lily Pad – and what a superb find this was. The accommodation is first-class, very tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable, cosy and in a stunning location, right on the edge of the Meare. The apartment has everything you are likely to need for a self-catering holiday, even down to a lemon-squeezer! The owners are charming and extremely accommodating. Very many thanks for a lovely week, we had a great time despite the lack of sunshine and the fuel crisis! We definitely hope to return!
Vignale, Waltham Abbey, The Lily Pad – October 2021
A lovely cottage in a quiet, rural setting. Perfect if you want to get away from the stresses and strains of life. NOTE: The wifi was non-existent, but this actually helped us really switch off and refresh our minds!

A fantastic place to stay in Aldeburgh. The apartment is to very high spec with lots of nice little touches like milk and wine in the fridge and snacks on the side. The watch tower was the icing on the cake with binoculars in place. We will come again. Thank you so much!
Sue, Seascape – October 2021
Excellent communication in preparation for our visit and a very well organised living space. Bay-tree studio is an ideal bolt-hole to get away from the ‘noise’ of the daily routine and relax. Near to a lovely coast with numerous wild life reserves and other sites of interest such as Aldeburgh and Sutton Hoo, there is also plenty to keep you occupied.
Cliff, The Bay Tree Studio – October 2021
It is a lovely cottage, which feels very comfortable.

Pam W, Garden Cottage – October 2021
Thorpeness will always be my favourite place – I’ve been coming here for over 30 years and staying at the Country Club is a real pleasure. 3 Ogilvie Lodge is beautiful, great location and good views, the owners must be very proud. Great DVD collection for those rainy days but didn’t get a chance to view any, too much going on in Thorpeness and Aldeburgh to watch TV . Thanks again for a great stay, My family can’t wait for our next visit!!
Trusted customer, 3 Ogilvie Lodge – October 2021

Martin, Nutshell – October 2021
This was a 3 generation family holiday and Beaver Cottage had something to offer everyone! The accommodation was spacious, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The garden and grounds to the estuary were nothing short of magical when we could wander down and see the rabbits, deer and hear all the birdsong. Big thanks to the owners for being so lovely and welcoming. For anyone who has not stopped here before the walk into Aldeburgh itself would be approx 25 mins.. This was our first holiday in many years where we were not on the sea front. It was such a lovely change to stop here. I think that we all felt instantly relaxed with the spectacular views and sounds.
Joanne, Beaver Cottage – October 2021
We loved our stay at Shore Cote. Easy check in, very clean and comfortable beds. The view from the decking is 1 in a million and we never got bored of it, we spent every evening looking out onto the sea and sky, it made our stay very memorable. On our last night there were fireworks on the beach which was lovely to watch. We went to a food festival on the Saturday which was great, local tennis courts near by at the country club and boat rentals nearby. There is a little path from the garden straight to the beach which is a stones throw away. Plenty of seating space inside and outside including a fabulous bbq which we used everyday. Bedrooms are a great size and we thought that the kitchen was very well stocked to suit 8 guests. Small issue of some flies in the house however that was probably because we left the windows open as the weather was beautiful the weekend of our visit. Stairs are quite steep inside however there is a bedroom downstairs for anyone who isn’t able to climb up them. We would highly recommend staying here and look forward to revisiting. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay, we lovely it and certainly one to remember.
Mollie, Shore Cote – October 2021

Lovely little house in a great location for the Suffolk coast with a nice garden to sit in when the sun is out. Village is small, no shop but does have a pub which did good food so you do need a car to get further afield. We had a relaxing few days and can certainly recommend this property.
Dawn – 1 Roseanna Cottage – September 2021
We had a brilliant week at Appletree cottage. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay there if you need peace and quiet. The cottage is stocked with everything you need and is very well finished. We would recommend a meal at The Swan in the village and a river boat trip on the Broads from Wroxham.
Frederick – Appletree Cottage – September 2021
We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at Meare House. The location is absolutely perfect right in the heart of the bustling village of Thorpness there is a great pub called the Dolphin and a lovely cafe called The Emporium literally within a stones throw. The house backs onto the lake and the beach is just down the road. We went on a great 10k walk to Aldeburgh which is also a beautiful town with great shops, cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlours. The house is great for a big group and well equipped. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Brilliant location, right next to the beach. Lovely little outside space (2nd Secret garden). The house has a slightly quirky layout, but was clean and the kitchen was very well equipped, which we really appreciated. We only stayed a weekend, but would definitely come back for a longer stay.
Euan – 4 Old Homes – September 2021
The house is just fabulous! So stylishly decorated and every detail/item/need has been thought of for a holiday property. Very spacious and comfortable. Little Tern is the best holiday let we have ever had. Exceptional! Sparkly clean, well equipped, comfortable and homely and with great attention to small details. The flowers, wine and nibbles which greeted us on arrival set the tone and the location twixt sea and river set the scene. The Indian summer weather for the whole 2 weeks was the icing on the cake. Peter – Jasmine Cottage – September 2021
A cosy modern cottage feel to Foxes Lodge. It has everything you need for a staycation for 1 or 2 people. Location is brilliant as it’s 10 minutes from Aldeburgh and Saxmundham, and only 30 minutes from the likes of Southwold. Lovely garden with decking. Only thing that makes it 4/5 is the bedroom being too warm at night. Imagine this being fine most months apart from July-Sept. A nice, welcoming pub next door with cracking food too, so don’t necessarily need to drive to have a few drinks and a great meal.
Samantha – Foxes Lodge – September 2021

Tracy – Ma Teact – September 2021
The Dower Cottage is the perfect getaway – perfect location just 3-4 minutes to the beach, easy walk to Aldeburgh or out towards the north to endless beaches. We even spotted a seal sun lounging on the beach in the morning after our swim. The cottage is big, clean, 2 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, double-living room and a huge garden, with lounge chairs and table and chairs right in front of the kitchen. We saw lots of birds, a pheasant and a family of deer in the garden. We also the quietest nights ever and fantastically fresh sea air. We were called the morning of our arrival to say the cottage is already set for us, so no need to wait till the checkin time. I’m sure this doesn’t always happen but it was a great welcome already. Cannot fault this place at all, nor the communication, we will be back!

Geraldine – Bay Cottage – August 2021
We had a wonderful time in Crespigny House. The premises are absolutely superb. Very conveniently located, a short walk from the and even closer to the best fish and chips shop in Aldeburgh. The house was previously a mansion which has been converted into four houses. Having said that, the building is so large and separate from the other premises you would never know that there were any neighbours. We had use of the annexe building as well which was great for my elderly father in law as it was all on one level. Overall, I can’t recommend the property enough and I can also thoroughly recommend Emma for her good communication and support.

Ellie – 1 Hazelwood – August 2021
This property looks out over an RSPB nature reserve. Numerous walks start from just outside the front door, whether round the nature reserve, by the edge of the golf course to Thorpeness and the beach or along the old railway line to Aldeburgh. We watched Marsh Harriers and Merlins (I think) over the mere. I even saw a couple of deer. The upstairs balcony has an even better view than the hides around the reserve. We had couple of dogs with us and it was perfect for them with lots of outdoor space. Ideal for an extended family get together. The kitchen and lounge areas are huge with the large windows overlooking the mere. Thorpeness is an interesting and quirky place. It was great walking among the unusual buildings. We only did half the activities we could have done in the nearby area.
TV S – Crossing Cottage – August 2021
We had a great stay at Bay cottage. Set in the heart of Thorpness and yet very peaceful with off road parking. The cottage has everything you could want for a relaxing holiday and is only a couple of hundred yards from a really nice pub.The cottage is dog friendly and both of ours loved playing in the secure garden. Thorpeness is less than 2 miles from Aldeburgh which has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. We would highly recommend a holiday at Bay cottage.
Paul C – Bay Cottage – August 2021
We stayed at Stoney Beach for 5 nights to be in the area for my sons wedding. It was a great house for us, 9 guests, as we had more than enough space to be together but also gave privacy. The house was well equipped. The cellar was a great place to watch the huge tv and the main lounge had amazing views across the beach and beyond. We loved the dual aspect of the top bedroom, so light and airy too. The positioning of the house is perfect for town and beach. Would love to return one day
Liz A – Stoney Beach – August 2021
A really nice, well equipped cottage with everything we needed. All the bedrooms are a good size, the bathrooms are well equipped and the living area was spacious and light. The accommodation was spacious, clean and provided everything we needed for our holiday. The location is quiet, but it’s right on the beach and nothing is too far away, although maybe not walking distance.
Zoe – Savannah Lodge – August 2021
Great week spent in Thorpeness. The house was stunning, very comfortable, spacious and immaculate. The view overlooking The Meare lake was beautiful and we were fortunate to see the Thorpeness Meare Junior regatta and firework display which was amazing. A real treat! The games, books and toys were a real bonus for the kids and a coffee machine for the adults! The location is fantastic with the beach just a couple of minutes away. We had a wonderful week away and hope to return again in the future. Thank you Emma and team.
Alison – Meare House – August 2021
Great home and location! All very good and look forward to returning.

Fabulous house in a beautiful location. Lovely places to see nearby. We were sad to leave.

Great location, clean and comfortable with everything you need on site. Would definitely recommend. Wifi was great – my partner had to work a couple of days and had no problems with connection etc.
Ami – Weeping Willow – Three Tuns Apartments – August 2021
The Dower House is a truly beautiful place situated in a great location for exploring the Suffolk and Norfolk counties. The property is large and airy with a balcony overlooking the sea. A great viewing location for watching the sun rise and set with a glass of wine. Being away from the main road and at the end of a country lane, it is in an extremely quiet and peaceful setting. We had a fantastic family staycation, spending days on the beach (which is only 100m away and accessed via a gate in the back garden). Note: accessing the beach is via some quite steep steps taking you down a sandy bank. The coastal path (that runs past the house) allows for easy exploration if you’re up for some walks, the route to Aldeburgh via Thorpeness and back is around 16-17kms. We managed this after topping up with Fish and Chips and Ice Cream for Harris and James at the half way point! All in all a great break had by all, we’ll be sure to return again at some point soon…
Spencer – The Dower House – August 2021
Very clean and comfortable place within a short drive from Aldeburgh.
Sally – 1 Hazelwood – August 2021
Fantastically located cottage. Perfect for a small group/ family to explore the Suffolk coast. Loved being a stone’s throw from both the mere and the beach.
Ruth – 3 Beach Cottages – August 2021
The cottage was equipped with everything we could possibly need for a week’s stay in Aldeburgh and is in a great location, just steps from the beach and high street with its interesting shops and fantastic restaurants. We ate excellent seafood at The Lighthouse and The Regatta and enjoyed fresh fried fish and chips from across the road, but a highlight was the wonderful smoked fish from Ashes smokery on the beach. There are wonderful varied walks directly from the cottage without the need for a car, but it is also easy to reach many of Suffolk’s other charming destinations along the coast and inland. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and would love to return to the Old Custom House.
Disy, Cirencester – The Old Custom House – August 2021
Great location of property just behind the high street. Would stay again. Clean and served its purpose.
Ellis, Basildon – 5 Coastguard Cottages – August 2021
This little cottage has been refurbished to extremely high standards. It was a privilege to be the first guests to stay there. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay memorable. The courtyard was lovely, quiet and secluded and had a great electric BBQ for alfresco dining. There are nice places to visit nearby and this cottage is a perfect base. We would definitely return.
Alison – 1 Chantry Cottage – August 2021
Nice place with a great location and the host was very helpful.
Stephen – Sanderling – August 2021
This is a great place to stay. Close to lots of places to visit, with a lovely little cafe just outside your door for morning coffee. The room was brilliant, plenty of room to relax and facilities to cook your own food. Definitely recommend this place and would stay again.
Gareth – Weeping Willow – Three Tuns Apartments – August 2021
Super smart place to stay. Comfy bed, great rose shower, compact kitchen with all you need for a holiday stay. Lovely walks from the house and nearby.
Chris – The Half House – August 2021
Location was excellent, less than 10mins walk from the beachfront and the accommodation had everything that was needed including good wifi, parking and separate kitchen and living area. Also accommodated for our dog which was the primary reason we picked to stay here.
Michael – 17 Britten Close – August 2021
Perfect for a getaway. Lovely and quiet if that takes your fancy or head down to Aldeburgh High Street for food and the shops which is five minutes away. Don’t forget the beach area for walks or take the car down and watch the sailing.
Pauline – Robin’s Egg – August 2021
Small but perfectly formed house in lovely location. It was bright, clean, well fitted out with everything we could have needed. I loved the summer house. Ideal for putting my feet up with a book and an evening drink. The location was great, a very pleasant ten minute walk from the front and high street. I love Aldeburgh and would rent this property again.
Stephanie – Nutshell – August 2021
Just what I needed!
Adrian – Three Tuns Apartment – Ash – August 2021
This house is perfect for a big family or bunch of friends to get together. Five bedrooms in total, eight beds and its on the sea front. The house is equipped with everything you’ll need and we had a lovely stay. There is ample parking outside the long private road and its within walking distance to the local pub, lake and cafe. The sea can be choppy at times but we still had a lot of fun. If you arrive on a Friday and want to go out for dinner after a long drive, I’d suggest to book a table and also go as early as possible. Most of the local pubs and restaurants stop serving food around 8 to 8:30pm. All in all, a wonderful stay and would love to return again one day soon.
Chris – Shore Cote – August 2021
Lovely house in amazing beachfront location. We had an amazing stay. Large property with interesting decoration – plenty of space for a large family. Being right on the beach was fantastic. We paddled in the sea, threw pebbles in the sea and flew kites. Aldeburgh was a wonderful town to explore. Yummy cakes from the Two Magpies Bakery and some of the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time. The children enjoyed sailing toy boats on the yachting lake. We visited Southwold, Thorpeness (hired boats), did a great family friendly cycle in Rendelsham forest and made a trip to Orford Ness (pre booking needed)- well worth it if anyone is into military history. Would highly recommend a stay in Beach House. Great communication and well equipped house.
Hannah – Beach House – August 2021
A lovely property in a very nice location, close to one of the nicest coastal villages in Suffolk. Communication with Emma was perfect. We had a great stay! Thank you Marina and Sally
Marina – 1 Hazelwood – August 2021
Lovely, spacious house in a fantastic location.
Eleanor – Sea Poppies – August 2021
A lovely house with ample parking!! Close enough to everything. Very clean and loads of room. Emma was also very responsive with any questions we had. Neighbours so friendly and even gave us a ball and ice cream for children. Highly recommend. Thanks so much for a wonderful memorable holiday. Special times.
Louise – Meadow View – August 2021
Bay Tree Studio is a gem; perfectly formed with every comfort, spotlessly clean, very well equipped, great parking, commanding a fantastic position to walk to all the beautiful locations Thorpeness has to offer. Emma was the perfect host with a very warm welcome which immediately made us feel at home; can’t recommend Bay Tree highly enough; 5 stars all round!
Ken Bates – The Bay Tree Studio – August 2021
Lovely house, great location, very clean kitchen and bathrooms. Fab views from the top of the house in several directions.
Chloe – 1 Bell Lodge – August 2021
We really loved our stay in Aldeburgh! The house has a lush garden with lots of places to sit, a BBQ and a great kitchen and front room. Housed the 8 of us really comfortably. Tesco and Co-op over the road are brilliant too. A really special holiday for us!
Laura – Amber Cottage – August 2021
We had a lovely week in Suffolk and the location was perfect for us within easy reach of the coast, Orford, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Dunwich in particular. It was great to walk to the Maltings and we went to two concerts in the evenings. Walks to Iken Cliffs and church as well as the Heath are easily accessed. We had a super meal at the Golden Key too which is very close by. The house is lovely and is well provided and comfortable – a great retreat at the end of a day at the coast.
Matthew, Poynton – 2 The Sands – August 2021
Very clean, and well equipped a great location for exploring the coast. The views from the accommodation are beautiful.
Colin – Sole Bay Lodge – August 2021
Swiss Cottage was a wonderful place to stay, very spacious for our large party and comfortable, with plenty of parking out the front. The level of equipment is good and there’s plenty of bathroom facilities.
Frans – Swiss Cottage – August 2021
Great house. Well organised and clean. Spacious living area, very suitable for young children. Close to beach, cafes and meare. Will certainly come back.
Suzanne – 4 Bell Lodge – August 2021
Overall, me and my family enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is in a lovely location with some great local pubs. Amazing for star gazing and fantastic walks, very quiet. However, the stairs are very steep, which my parents (who are in their early 60s) found a little difficult as well as myself, my husband and my brother did too- they are somewhat of a death trap. Some signs are definitely needed for the stairs and low ceilings as we all banged our heads numerous times. The property sleeps 5, so it would be nice to have more than 1 sun lounger in the garden. The kitchen is great, would definitely benefit from more than 1 frying pan though for those of us that like to cook! Thank you.
Lilia – 2 The Sands – August 2021
This is a charming home from home. The owners have thought of everything and we had a great couple of days. We hope to be back.
Alison – Admiral Cottage – August 2021
We had a very enjoyable stay, lots of al fresco dining on the lovely terrace. Very peaceful and tranquil location but within reach of places to go, would stay again.
Hugo – The Half House – August 2021
Perfect house for our family holiday. The kids loved the park around the corner and the dog loved walks around the common. It’s a great base as well for trips to Southwold. Highly recommended
Craig – Hazel’s – August 2021
Turret House is a landmark in Thorpeness, so it was a privilege to be able to stay there. The house is spacious and very comfortable with almost everything you need in the kitchen. It is also in a great location, near the Mere and the Dolphin pub which does great food. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing stay.
Fiona – Turret House – August 2021
This little nook was the perfect get away. Secluded enough to give a sense of peaceful isolation but close enough to local attractions not to feel cut off. Orford and Aldeburgh are on the doorstep and the walk to Snape Maltings just lovely. Would strongly recommend as a base for exploring the area or as somewhere just to stay put and enjoy a book and the meadow!
Holly – The Half House – August 2021
The house has made for an excellent week. Great location, excellent decor and style. Brilliant for our three families – plenty of space. Very interesting Ogilvie history.
And I’m very impressed with your company. You were extraordinarily helpful over booking(including a change in dates), you were excellent in the way you phoned us en route as soon as the house was ready. Top quality customer care.
Paul Roberts – The Dower House – August 2021
The house was in a great location just yards from the high street and beach. The private parking space was a real plus. Communication was great and any small issues were dealt with quickly and without fuss.
Chris – The Tiller – August 2021
Everything ‘A Stones Throw‘ away! We have just had a lovely week at Stones Throw Aldeburgh. We enjoyed the lovely plants and flowers in the Courtyard and spent time out there with a glass Of wine and a coffee sitting by the table . The apartment was very well equipped modern And had a cosy feel to it . There are lots of great restaurants and very special shops nearby. We hired a boat on the Mere at Thorpeness and Had a picnic on the beach afterwards . On a sunny evening we popped onto the beach With our G&T’s and wine . So relaxing . A big bonus is having a secure parking space . We can’t wait to return.
Trusted customer – Stones Throw – August 2021
Lovely location, tucked away but near the beach and the local attractions. Small but perfectly formed for our short break, the veranda provided an extra room – great for an evening drink and alfresco dining. Great communication and was very accommodating.
Shika – 7 Uplands – August 2021
Amazing location in Thorpness, close to everything! Cosy cute flat, very clean and quiet at night!
Olivia – The Bay Tree Studio – August 2021
This is a great place to stay for visiting Aldeburgh and other places around. It’s an easy walk into town and there are supermarkets 2 minutes walk away. We also enjoyed walking to Thorpeness. The house is clean and fresh with plenty of room for 4, and a nice sunny garden with a bbq. It was useful having an en-suite as well as a bathroom (and downstairs loo!) as we have 2 teenage daughters. The living room is comfortable and must be very cosy in the winter with the log burner. We had everything we needed for cooking. There was also lots of useful information about places to visit, maps etc. We highly recommend Bryony Cottage and are happy we found it.
Keith – Bryony Cottage – August 2021

Lovely property for our first trip to Suffolk with everything you’d need in a great quiet location close to Orford. Lovely, well done-up cottage with great access to the beach. Great spot for rural walks.
Brigid – Dower Retreat – July 2021
What a fabulous property! A beautiful spot, with lovely places to visit within easy reach. The swimming pool really is gorgeous, with several teak benches if a lounger is not your thing, though there are plenty of those too! The tennis court and children’s play area are also excellent. Very easy to share those spaces with families in the farm’s other cottages, there was no feeling of overcrowding even in a hot summer holiday week. The Hayloft has a small enclosed garden which is lovely, but you are also welcome to walk on the paths around the meadows and ponds on the farm. Farm shop just up the road for milk and organic produce. The house is well equipped and the conversion and decor all really stylish. All as described but somehow even better! We (2 adults with children aged 14, 11 and 9) had a wonderful break and would happily return.
Angharad – East Green Farm – The Hayloft – July 2021
Great cottage – with good facilities and excellent location for exploring local area. Steep stairs so maybe tricky for some and precarious for toddlers Would definitely use again!

A short walk to the beach, and a very short walk to a couple of small supermarkets; this cottage was a perfect place for us to spend a few days in Aldeburgh. The house was well equipped, and having secure off-road parking was an added benefit. It was a great base from which to venture out to Woodbridge, Ipswich and Norwich as well as the more local Thorpeness Meares and Snape Maltings.

Great 1 bedroom apartment on the Suffolk coast. Only 5 mins from the beach and about 20 mins walk from Thorpeness. Very clean and good facilities.
Jon – The Dower Retreat – July 2021
This is a fabulous holiday cottage. It is wonderfully located, sparklingly clean and very comfortable to live in with a great shower and everything needed in the kitchen. We never struggled with parking on street, although the car park at the end of the road has plenty of room if needed and is very cheap. We will be back!

Aaron – 3 Hazelwood – July 2021
Perfect sized accommodation for family use in a complex that has plenty of parking for visitors. Nice to have a garden area both front and back of the property to make good use of the sun. Property is located outside of Aldeburgh but that had its advantages of not having to worry about getting stuck in any traffic jams in town and was easy to reach many other sites around the local area.
Emma – 2 Hazelwood – July 2021
Superb house, great location. Perfect for large group/2 families – great top floor where kids could retreat and watch tv etc without adults being bothered by them! 2 top floor balconies, great for having drinks on, in the evening sun. Basic charcoal bbq on back ground floor terrace. Very well equipped kitchens (although as others have said – microwave and freezer only in downstairs kitchen which could be annoying if house is split for 2 families to use separately) Very tasteful decor. Plenty of bathrooms and space. Literally on the beach. Barely 5 minutes walk from the centre of Aldeburgh. Would 100% recommend, and will book again if we can!!
Philippa – Gunfleet – July 2021
Great stay! There was everything you could possibly need, amazing facilities and plenty of space for the 4 of us. Brilliant location too. While there was no designated parking we always managed to find a space outside the property or in the cheap public car park around the corner. The only minor issue was poor WiFi which meant we all used up a lot of data as needed access to work emails etc. Would definitely recommend!
Laura – Ocean Wing – July 2021
Great place to stay – inside and out. Couldn’t be better placed. Will recommend and, hopefully, be back.
Yvonne – Swn-y-don – July 2021
Admiral Cottage is in a great location in a street between Aldeburgh High St and the beach front. Car parks nearby and we managed to get roadside parking for our car. No problem with eating out every night as so much choice just around the corner. We couldn’t fault the interior of the cottage. Comfortable bed and both bathrooms were luxurious. I enjoyed reading the Wide Sargasso Sea that just happened to be one of the cottage paperbacks and on my booklist. The whole place was spotlessly clean (except for seagull droppings in courtyard that cannot be helped by the seaside of course). The kitchen was well equipped. We would happily return to this cottage again. We loved it.
Claire B – Admiral Cottage – July 2021
The house was just lovely and so well equipped especially in the kitchen. Comfortable living room too. Very nice bedrooms and lovely outdoor seating in a nice garden. Central location and just a ten minute walk from the centre. Would recommend this wonderful home. It was actually recommended to us by our friends and we had a wonderful holiday in a great location.

John – Seascape – July 2021
We had a brilliant time at The Haven and the house is exactly what we needed. It was really well equipped for a big group – comfy beds and great bathrooms and we had lots of great dinners both inside, and outside on the table over looking the Thorpeness Meare. The view is truly lovely and it’s so close to the beach too. We had a great time doing lots of walking (Aldeburgh is a lovely walk along the coast), and exploring local towns. Thank you so much for having us we would definitely come back!
Imogen – 5 The Haven – July 2021
The Pink House is in a perfect sheltered spot, right beside the sea. It is spacious and very well appointed with comfortable beds and good bed-linen. The underfloor heating is a boon in bad weather.
Liz – The Pink House – July 2021
Emma’s place is a cosy little place nice and close to Aldeburgh and its beach. It’s the perfect place for a family weekend away – with 3 bedrooms and a everything you need for a pleasant stay. And it’s impeccably clean!
Samantha, Pinky Cottage – July 2021
A really wonderful cottage – spacious with great decor. The large kitchen/diner was well equipped with everything we needed (we’re foodies who like cooking!) There is a large garden, outdoor table/chairs & BBQ. Short walk from the high street and beach and handily opposite a shop. Roadside parking was free and there was always space. We were two couples and a baby and it suited us perfectly. I’m sure we’ll be back in the future!
Nicola, Amber Cottage – July 2021
Fabulous cottage for birdwatchers which looks over an area of fenland – we saw marsh harriers every day of our three-night stay, plus a bittern, egret, kestrels and peregrine falcons. The owner has provided several sets of binoculars (one set broken but one excellent set) Great walks from the door. The property is very well equipped, furnished and spacious. The kitchen is vast and well laid out with wonderful views, shared by the equally vast vaulted living room. Best meal was dinner at the Parrot and and Punchbowl (which is walkable but beware it’s very easy to get lost). Also ate in Thorpeness opp the duck pond (thumbs up for the open Coronation chicken sandwich) and in Aldeburgh. Feel we have exhausted Thorpeness, which is a quaint novelty – a curious mix of Legoland, The Stepford Wives, The Prisoner and The Truman Show.
Katherine, Crossing Cottage – July 2021
A pleasant property , with a short drive to the coast and local amenities
Alan, 2 Suffolk Cottage – July 2021
Avocet Cottage is a fantastic place to stay, I highly recommend it. Very clean, brilliant hosts who couldn’t do enough to help, with great communication from start to finish. A wonderful location in the heart of Aldeburgh.
Katie, Avocet Cottage – July 2021
Lovely location – with Aldeburgh nearby bringing more options in terms of food / drink venues – nice and quiet house with good amenities. Would recommend
Ben, 5 Oakes Court – July 2021
Sweet cottage in a good location very close to all the shops and restaurants. Also some lovely walks very nearby. Stairs are narrow but this was not a problem for us. A luxury to have two bathrooms in such a small place.
Deborah, Drift In – July 2021
Lovely cottage in a peaceful location yet easy to drive to the beach. Swimming pool and tennis courts were a huge bonus. Cottage was very clean and presentable and it was lovely to be able to wander around the garden/field – kiddies enjoyed playing hide and seek.
Joanna, East Green Farm Cottages – The Granary – July 2021
Excellently well appointed cottage and a fab location. Emma was organised and very welcoming.
Tessa, Shell cottage – June 2021
All round good place to stay for a short or long period especially for couples. Good location to get to places of interest in Suffolk.
Abigail, Three Tuns Apartments – Hazel – June 2021
Peace quiet & tranquillity! We found this cottage on Aldeburgh Coastal Cottage website & dealt with Lisa who was both polite & informative not only about the cottage but also the general area. It’s a superb detached cottage in nearly 4 acres of private & very secluded grounds & with their sun loungers providing us us with the perfect sun tan top up. Indeed the the quiet secluded grounds provides the perfect holiday for both naturalist & naturist with the abundant variety of bird life with the peace, quiet & total privacy. We spotted around a dozen different varieties of birds & numerous squirrels. Inside the cottage our king size bed was very comfortable with lovely views of the garden. The bathroom shower over the bath was manageable & also offered great views of the garden. The kitchen is well equipped providing us with everything needed between eating out. The sun loungers were used daily & in the evening it was nice to sit on the comfortable patio furniture reading. The cottage is ideally located for Aldeburgh & also Snape Maltings, Woodbridge & Southwold. We ate out at different establishments & would highly recommend The Lion Inn in Little Glemham for good honest home style cooked food. We would highly recommend a holiday here for peace, quiet & privacy.
Waller, Briar Hill – June 2021
We wanted to get away from it all and this cottage was perfect for that. The coastal path is at the end of the garden and we could happily walk to two of the villages (pubs!). We also walked into Aldeburgh although it took just over an hour, which is a lovely seaside town. We can recommend to gin distillery tour. The house itself is set out on three floors that meant we could be self contained on one floor and my in-laws on the other floor. The house benefitted from being done up in a sympathetic way, as it was spacious and airy. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Although we like walking, I think you would need a car for shopping etc and exploring the local area.
Alison, The Dower Lodge – June 2021
Magical place for all ages. This is our 4th visit to Crossing Cottage which, surely, is praise indeed. We all love it from a 4 year old up to a 74 year old! The location is superb. Ideally situated for easy access to both Aldeburgh and Southwold and, not forgetting Thorpeness itself with its beautiful mere. Having a nature reserve at the bottom of the garden is an added bonus. We saw a bittern, marsh harriers, terns and even had a daily visit from a red deer. The children loved the garden with its slide and swings and space to play football etc. Can thoroughly recommend it!
Trusted customer – Needingworth, Crossing Cottage – June 2021
This was the best rental cottage I have ever stayed in – super convenient and super equipped. If you’re going to stay in Aldeburgh you may as well try and stay right in the centre. Puddleduck Cottage is situated at the quiet end of the high street so it’s peaceful but within easy walking distance of all the great shops, bars and cafes on the high street. If you don’t have a car you can easily stay here for a week, maybe venturing along the beach to the totally whimsical Thorpeness. Got wheels? Then don’t miss nearby Snape Maltings, Orford and Wickham Market. One of the best things about staying here is that you get to buy a fish from the many stalls along the front and cook it at home. Add a bottle of two of wine an you’re all set. Of course you could also eat fish and chips all night from the award-winning chippie. Bliss.
Mayer, Puddleduck Cottage – June 2021
We loved the apartment – very clean and spacious and brilliantly located for exploring Thorpeness, the coast and an easy walk into Aldeburgh and its many great restaurants and cafes.
Trusted customer, 3 Ogilvie Lodge – June 2021
This is the 2nd Aldeburgh cottage rental this year which we’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Elm cottage might not have parking but it’s location just 5 mins from the high street and beach was ideal for our family. Clearly freshly refurbished it offered well appointed open plan ground floor space with the bonus of the ‘garden room’ leading out to the small decked seating area which provided a safe play area for a toddler. We loved the light filled airy ‘attic room’ with its Juliet balcony looking across to the river.
Sheila B, Elm Cottage – June 2021
I had a lovely stay at the granary for a long weekend with my family. The property is beautiful, well maintained in a very picturesque setting. My grandson took full advantage of the play area and particularly enjoyed the trampoline! Even though the weather was grey and cloudy we even took a very quick dip in the outdoor pool. I would definitely return and recommend it highly 😀
Karen, East Green Farm Cottages – The Granary – June 2021
Perfectly positioned and well appointed. The location is amazing – the beach is just across the promenade and shops just around the corner. One of the few properties on the front with garden/patio area. Next door but two to Cross Keys pub which has outside tables. Although the property is close to Oakley Square car park this posed no problem and handy for unloading car ! Well appointed and comfortable.
Richard, Swn-y-don – June 2021
The perfect cottage, equipped for every eventuality! Ideally located 5 minutes walk from High Street and beach and yet set in a beautiful quiet spot in the prettiest of gardens. Cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. Gorgeous bed and great shower.

Amazing property with beautiful seaside views. Really spacious and well presented. Highly recommended.
Anthony, Gunfleet – June 2021
The Dairy House is great. It offered so much more in every area than photos could suggest. The location is idyllic, on the edge of an oak wood. The house is wonderful and we loved all the books, furniture and art from the family’s travels. It felt like a privilege to stay in what was obviously a much loved family home as well as a well-equipped and managed holiday stay. There are lots of walks which pass through multiple landscapes, such as the one to Snape Maltings, yet are not very long. And it is an easy drive to the coast and many lovely spots. We could not have been more happy.

I have to say, this is the first time my two daughters, new grandson and I, have stayed in Aldeburgh or Southwold in an apartment and we really enjoyed it. The accommodation was spotless and everything was in there, that we needed. Thanks for remembering the high chair. Thank you again, Best regards, Richard

Had a lovely stay at No.4 Meadow View. We were lucky enough to have good weather on our arrival day and made use of the lovely patio area. We would definitely consider staying here again if in the area.

Catherine, Hunky Dory – June 2021
Very comfortable house in a great location just a few minutes walk from the shops and sea.
Lisa, Little Tern Cottage – June 2021
Bright well appointed cottage within easy walking of the Meare and Dolphin pub. Garden is not huge but lots of privacy surrounded by mature planting on two sides. Could not name many of the plants. Lounge is spacious with a huge TV. Most of facilities such as cooker, bathroom, furniture and boiler well upgraded and new. Cleanliness is at a 10/10. level. Thorpeness is a quirky, attractive unusual resort with a laidback and spacious ambience. Many of the side roads are unmade and given over to wild flowers along edge and surprised it is not more well known which in itself a boon.

The house is lovely, full of old fashioned charm. It was extremely clean and well equipped. The village is picturesque with its own boating lake, the house in the clouds is a must to see. The local pub/restaurant, The Dolphin Inn is good, but suggest you book for a table well in advance, it is very popular.

Stoney Beach House is right on the beach, and the views are magnificent. Very comfortable property, and in a great location, handy for the shops, pubs, cafes, and of course the fish and chip shops. We stayed as a special birthday weekend for my wife, and we hosted our boys, their wives and our 5 grandchildren. We weren’t really bothered about eating in local restaurants, so took advantage of the outside bbq area. All together, a fabulous property, wonderfully clean, and in a great location. Many thanks The Heyes Family

We had a brilliant short stay here. The place was really clean and well equipped. There was also a good selection of maps, books and games. It’s a short walk to the beach, coffee and ice cream stores and the Meare. We had a delicious meal at The Dolphin but you really need to book in advance as it’s very popular. If you can’t get in, it’s not far to Aldeburgh for the best fish and chips you’ll ever eat. Great walking from the doorstep, and a short drive to RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath. We certainly intend to stay here again.
Silas, The Bay Tree Studio – May 2021
A wonderful , light and spacious house. It has a well equipped kitchen and great communal space. We enjoyed the amazing views, and thanks to the binoculars provided, discovered the joy of bird watching. Scenic walks into Aldeburgh , and along the beach to Maggi Hambling’s The Scallop , boating at Thorpeness , and The Sailors path to Snape , are just a few activities that kept us busy and deserving of our fish and chips ! We would recommend Crossing Cottage.
Miranda, Crossing Cottage – May 2021
Thank you both for a wonderful break in your beautiful Lily Pad. We have been made to feel very welcome and have enjoyed every moment! This is a lovely place to stay – so peaceful – we didn’t quite catch the nightingales but we hope to on our next visit. Many thanks!
Evelyn & Martin, The Lily Pad – May 2021
Wonderful location fantastic Dark skies and wildlife. Great location for walks enjoying nature and accessing local RSPB reserves and coastal walks. Would recommend RSPB Minsmere, Aldeburgh, Rendlesham forest, Woodbridge, Snape Maltings. We could hear Bitterns booming from the property in the early morning. Muntjac and red deer wander in the garden. Make sure you go outside and look up at the stars on clear nights. We had a very tasty Sunday lunch at the Parrot and Punchbowl but do book in advance. The Retreat is very comfortable and relaxing the owners are very personable. We booked this Retreat because it had some many good reviews and would highly recommend it.
Jean, The Retreat – May 2021
Cosy cottage, perfect location! My husband and I stayed here with our 1 year old baby and dog recently. We booked through Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages, they were very helpful with the booking and arranged everything for us including a high chair for our baby. The cottage was clean tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location – one road from the seafront and on the main High St – quiet end of the street and just a short walk to the shops pubs etc. We had a delicious lunch at Regatta on the High St and coffee pastries from Two Magpies bakery – excellent! Cross Keys pub great for a drink. We also to get on street parking outside our cottage (free of charge). Aldeburgh is a lovely location for long weekend or mid week break. You can park up and just enjoy the historic coastal town or drive to nearby Thorpeness for a boat ride on the Meare or visit Southwold for Sandy beach.
Suzanne o, Little Tern Cottage – May 2021
Thorpeness, peace and beauty of a bygone era. We were lucky to stay in Thorpeness during the quiet season! The beach is ON the doorstep. The flat was perfect combining the elegance of original features with modern convenience. We absolutely loved our stay there. The surrounding area, The Meare, architecture was just wonderful and of course we got to see The House in the Clouds – amazing.
Rosie C, 3 Ogilvie Lodge – May 2021
The Tower was a great place for us to stay while working in the local area. The building itself is quirky and characterful, and with plenty of space for the four of us. The kitchen was a good size and well equipped for cooking, the lounge area on the first floor was great, and there were 3 bathrooms as well. The whole flat was cleaned to a good standard. Thorpeness itself is a very quiet and relaxing place – with close access to the beach and with lots of good walking/running routes close by. The Dolphin Inn around the corner does excellent food. I would highly recommend The Tower to a large family or to a group of adults looking to stay in the area.
Oliver, The Tower – May 2021
We were looking for a comfortable well located flat/house as a base for exploring the area along the Suffolk coast. Aldeburgh is a perfect base for this, Minsmere, Snape, Walberswick, Thorpeness all within easy distance with Woodbridge and the Deben estuary pretty close too. The accommodation was really clean and tidy. Easy parking and 30 yards to the beach. Great variety of takeaway meals
Peter, Swn-y-don – May 2021
Stunning seaside inspired apartment. Great location very close to the beach, superb seaside inspired decor, very clean, the watchtower had wonderful views of the sea, beach and historic buildings. A very spacious apartment always toasty warm with the underfloor heating. Very quiet location with secure parking and a two minute stroll to get some of the best super fresh fish and shellfish. The small town was clean and very tidy, good fish and chips with wonderful small shops, historic pubs with great coast walks walks. Cant wait to come back.
Trusted customer, Seascape – May 2021
Literally a ‘Stones Throw’ from the beach 🙂 A comfortable stay in an apartment that catered for all our needs – close to the town and. importantly for us, close to the lovely beach. The apartment was great and quiet. We’ve never been to Suffolk before this stay and will most definitely return to explore more of this beautiful area. Aldeburgh is lovely 🙂
Angela, Stones Throw – May 2021

A lovely place to stay for our first visit to this part of the country. Great views over the Meare – enjoyed watching the wildlife. Thank you for the wine and delicious cake and for arranging a boat for us. Hopefully we will be back again soon
Evelyn & Martin, The Lily Pad – May 2021
Lovely property with uninterrupted views of the sea. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. The property is in very good condition with all amenities. Modern and homely. Lots of walks right on the doorstep and an ideal base for touring. Would love to comeback for a few days in winter to see it from a different perspective.
Paul, Sole Bay Lodge – May 2021
The Retreat, Aldringham. Lovely seaside and country locations on the doorstep. Shops are now re-opening so there was quite a lot of choice locally. The accommodation itself is just perfect. It is so chic, trendy, relaxed, cosy and warm. Everything is maintained to the very highest standard. The owners are lovely. Welcomed us by coming to call on us. Well, you just have to meet the donkeys. We sharpened the ends of two sticks to feed them apples and carrots so that we didn’t get our fingers nipped! There’s lots of other wildlife, too, and birds etc. The daffodils and snowdrops were still in bloom and the leaves were out on most trees. Climbing plants were coming into bud. Just so relaxing. You can go for lovely walks and not go off the property. Do you know, to be perfectly honest, you could stay in The Retreat and never go out and have a wonderful holiday. Loved the swing and the trampoline, even at our advanced ages.
Meander, The Retreat – May 2021
Great location with a lovely blend of old and new. Courtyard garden is a real treat and seafront is a minute’s walk across the road. Bedrooms are all generous in size and the cottage is pleasantly furnished throughout. Look forward to booking again in the near future.

Lovely cosy cottage in a very quiet village, perfect for relaxing. Great location for exploring the local area, we can highly recommend Trawlers Catch in Saxmundham delicious fish and chips. The kitchen had everything you need and we loved the store cupboard, great if you just need a pinch of something instead of buying lots of condiments. The garden is beautiful
Elaine, Jasmine Cottage – May 2021
I just wanted to let you know that we had a lovely stay at your beautiful cottage. We didn’t want for anything and it was absolutely spotless. The communication with yourself was also so easy and prompt. Thank you for making the experience so easy.
Sophie, Little Tern Cottage – May 2021
A lovely location(in our view one of the best in Aldeburgh) on the slopes of the Alde estuary. Tony and Debbie, the relaxed owners of the main house next door, generously share their extensive grounds in which it is possible to find any number of lovely secluded areas to sit out, cook out and even make tea in the shepherds hut in the orchard. A walk to the private sandy beach was a daily joy, often accompanied by Jesse, a charming, friendly border collie. From the beach you can easily walk to the main sea beaches along the embankment wall. Although we had a great time going to the various nearby attractions it was also a lovely place just to chill and listen to the amazing birdsong. We spotted the resident Barn Owl and rabbits galore. Information about things to do was detailed and accurate and communication with the owners was very easy.
Les, Beaver Cottage – May 2021
Thanks for all your help, we really found you a friendly and professional company to work with. We absolutely loved our weekend and will definitely return. Thanks.

Karen, Appletree Cottage – April 2021
Amazing location, the view will take your breath away. A beautiful beach that you look out onto directly and is, I think, the prettiest beach in Suffolk because of the dunes, the combination of shingle and sand at low tide and the grasses/gorse bushes. Very comfortable thoughtful accommodation. A perfect stay!
Susan Chan, Sole Bay Lodge – April 2021

Wow what a great apartment, stunning views, contemporary decor and a delight to stay in. My partner and I stayed here in early December 2020. The views over the sea were uninterrupted and allowed us to switch off and relax. A short walk to all the shops and restaurants and a fantastic balcony. The team at Aldeburgh coastal cottages were a delight to deal with and really looked after us. Cannot wait to go back.
Terry, Crag’s Nest – December 2020
Lovely stylish place for a quiet coastal getaway and nice pub across the road
Gavin, The Lookout – December 2020
Had a lovely stay in dreamy Aldeburgh, the house is larger than it looks in photos and fully equipped. We LOVED the log burner in the living room, made our December stay really cosy. The team were really helpful and easy to contact. Aldeburgh is a great little place to stay we particularly enjoyed all the independent shops and how friendly everyone is. We could recommend the Escargot sur Mer pop up restaurant and also walking up to Thorpeness along the beach for a pub lunch in the very cosy Dolphin Inn
Amy Dobson, Mansard House – December 2020
Great little apartment, amazing location, with a brilliant view over the beach. Even in winter I sat on the balcony and enjoyed the view. Well furnished and laid out space, made for a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Would certainly return in summer.

Shell Cottage, Annabel Sebag-Montefiore – December 2020
We loved Jasmine Cottage for a cosy Christmas getaway! Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages was accommodating of everything we asked and make sure the check in was easy. They even left a Christmas quiz for us to do! We would stay again!
Jessica Sallie, Jasmine Cottage – December 2020
Fantastic stay at Elm Cottage and experience with Aldeburgh Cottages. The house was exactly what we needed – lovely open plan downstairs living area, small but perfectly formed bedrooms on the middle floor, and a lovely attic master with en suite. The house was sparkling clean on arrival, had all the amenities you might need in terms of the kitchen and a large family bathroom (helpful with a 5 month old). In terms of customer service, Aldeburgh Cottages were brilliant. Really responsive to queries and emails, and went the extra mile to ensure our stay wasn’t disrupted by covid-19. They also organised a Christmas Tree for the property which was a lovely touch.
Dora, Elm Cottage – December 2020
It’s a lovely cottage just a stones throw from the sea and the e nearby cafes and shops. We really enjoyed the space. Cozy and chic. Everything you need for a break away.

Sure Rimes, Polly’s – December 2020
A wonderful trip for my husbands 40th! Not the big family group and plans we had hoped for, but we were met with a wonderfully clean property. Really comfortable beds, great cooking equipment and stunning location. We managed to visit Southwold as well as enjoying beautiful Aldeburgh. Sat outside at the cross keys in Aldeburgh for a great lunch and enjoyed an amazing meal at the Swan in Southwold (outdoors and covered). Would definitely recommend hiring a hot tub which we did and the star gazing is amazing! We will be back! Thank You!

Nel, Waterfront Cottage – December 2020
Great location for the beach and high street – unbelievably close to both – barely couple of minutes walk. Parking on street – which was fine in December – but very close public car park anyway. Very clean, modern, and very efficient hosts. Small house but perfect for our needs -good outdoor space for puppy to get out to, great to have separate toilet downstairs as well as bathroom upstairs. Spacious double, 2 small singles but perfectly fine for a short stay (even with older children like us – age 15 and 11). Nespresso machine, everything you need in a kitchen – even a small dishwasher! I would very much recommend this cottage!!
Philippa Donnelly, Little Tern Cottage – December 2020
It is a lovely and comfortable space, in a great location and a short walk to the beach. The host and agent are extremely helpful and quick to respond. I particularly liked the warming fire on a cold December night! A place I would love to return to in the summer and hopefully be able to take the boat out!

Great location, stylish house and has everything you need for a home away from home getaway. Parking right outside was very easy. 5min walk to the high street. Comfortable beds and sofas. The 1st floor sitting room is lovely to watch the sunrise in over the sea and beach! Loved the house and are looking to potentially rebook for the 2021 summer!!

Nice place, close to the beach and had a good size kitchen and living space.
Graham Macpherson, 4 Bell Lodge – December 2020

Ian Daly, Jasmine Cottage – December 2020
A stunning retreat. An incredible apartment with the best view of the sea. Instantly we were able to switch off, relax and recharge our batteries. Brilliantly equipped kitchen, thoroughly enjoyed our stay – could while away hours and hours looking out the expansive bay window. Many thanks.
Miriam, Cambridge, Crags Nest – December 2020
Cute little cottage in a great location. Really loved staying in this little cottage. It was full of character, and had everything we needed for our short stay with plenty of space for the two of us. It was great to be so close to the centre of town so we could walk everywhere we needed to go, and the front garden gave us a bit of privacy from the high street. The sofa and bed were both really comfy so we could relax and get a good night’s sleep, and the upstairs snug makes a great dressing room as well as a nice place to relax – just watch your head on the low doorway leading into the bedroom! The kitchen was well-stocked but it is pretty small with limited counter space so it wouldn’t be ideal if you were a keen cook who likes to take up lots of room, but there is a generous sized dining table right next door which you can use for food prep. Wifi was fast and having a smart TV meant we could watch a bit of Netflix after coming back from dinner. Would definitely stay there again, and would definitely recommend to any couples visiting Aldeburgh.
Louis, London, Bloom Cottage – December 2020
Managed to stay here just before lockdown, this is a beautiful cottage and perfect for a family stay. We had lovely walks from the door and relaxed family meals around the huge kitchen table. A very positive memory from this awful year.
Gill H, Elloughton, Crossing Cottage – December 2020
Fantastic location!. Stayed over October half term for a few days. Location was excellent very close to the beach and the centre of Thorpe ness. Although the weather was grim we got out for some bracing walks in the local area. Dolphin pub is a must for dinner amazing vegan menu. House was very comfortable. Bedrooms were large and we loved the triple aspect main bedroom. Easy to park as well. Really nice surrounds of the country club. Would love to go back again. Thanks for a great stay!
Zoe M, Essex, Elloughton, 2 Ogilvie Lodge – December 2020
Truly delightful. Such a beautiful house. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and the oven worked really well. Big enough to cook for a large party if needed. Dining room table was nice and big. Rooms were furnished to a lovely standard. The location from the beach was fantastic. A short walk. We would love to stay again.

Thimble Cottage is really well situated for visiting the Suffolk Coast and surrounding areas. Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Minsmere, Dunwich and Southwold all being in easy reach It is beautifully quiet but has a pub and handy local shop within a stones throw! The cottage is well furnished and extremely comfortable, the garden is small but secure – perfect for our dog. Good kitchen and bathroom, everything you need. Thimble Cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a character property for a short break/week on the Suffolk Coast

Mark, Ashford, Stones Throw – December 2020
An amazing house in a great location.
Kingsley Manning, Stoney Beach – November 2020
The cottage was really lovely and we had a really nice stay. As mentioned in other reviews it is quite hard to find in the dark, even with directions. The cottage was immaculate and the bedroom and kitchen are really lovely, under floor heating in the bathroom was particularly nice! We couldn’t fault the cottage and we had a lovely break. I think it would be a lovely place to stay in the summer with the patio and BBQ.
Jennifer McEnhill, The Dairy Cottage – November 2020
Fantastic location and beautiful accommodation. If you want to have a break away from it all, but have fabulous restaurants and food in walking distance, this is the place for you.

What a lovely home! Everything you could possibly want or need is there for you, including a bottle of wine. We found it a little difficult to locate initially but, when we did ,it didn’t disappoint . Spotlessly clean and warm welcoming.
Denise James, Seascape – November 2020
It’s a charming ‘lodge-type’ house with a very spacious feel and daylight pouring in on every side. Very comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, strong wifi, efficient central heating and a lovely wood-burner in the lounge. The house is tucked away in its own private grounds, which are vast and stunningly beautiful. We were there in time for the spectacular leaf display happening wherever you looked, but I imagine it’s especially lovely in the summer, sitting outside in the open-yet-secluded garden. Briar Hill is very well situated: there’s plenty to explore in the local area, with endless beach walks just 10 mins away in the car. We would certainly stay here again.
Nick Martin, Briar Hill – November 2020
Clean bright warm terrace house. Has everything you would need for a comfortable stay including a private garden.
Joy Williams, Walnut Cottage – November 2020
Lovely apartment in great location on the High Street above a friendly hair salon. The views from the balcony are fabulous. The apartment is sparkling clean and has everything you need for a visit to the lovely town of Aldeburgh.
Al Milnes, York House – November 2020
Fun long weekend in Aldeburgh – our first time here. Particularly enjoyed the combination of sea view and log burner at this time of year. Fantastic location for exploring the town and people watching. The large window seat is a real highlight. Well equipped if you wanted to take advantage of local fish, seafood, delis etc – self catering is a doddle. Bed comfy and main bedroom facing west was quiet, and nice and dark for a restful night. Would like to go back in Spring or Summer when the days are longer.
Lisa Holmes, Crag’s Nest – November 2020
You won’t be disappointed; the house is beautiful. All rooms are very well kitted out. Plenty of light and space. Great location.

Lovely property! We really enjoyed our stay here, just outside of Aldeburgh. Great living area and the kitchen was superb and very well equipped. Comfy and cosy and lots of space to walk our old cocker spaniel. The bathrooms and showers are excellent and we had nice trips to Southwold/Aldeburgh/Snape – ideally located. Thank you for our stay.

Keith Underwood, Beachcomber – October 2020
This is a very comfortable house in a brilliant location. The house is extremely well equipped – probably better than my own house. The Dolphin pub is a few seconds away and were so very accommodating – booking us a dog friendly table to suit us. The Suffolk Coasts and Heath walks from the house are superb and a walk across the Aldeburgh made a great afternoon out. Thorpeness was very pretty but due to the weather we weren’t able to take full advantage of the boating lake or golf course. All in all a really comfortable stress free stay in a fabulous location. Thank you thank you Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages.
Fiona Ashcroft, 18 Pilgrim’s Way – October 2020
Great location and very handy to have off street parking. Great stay – many thanks.
Will Daley, Watermans – October 2020
The pink house was amazing. The property is lovely and spacious. We especially loved the log burner in the evenings. The location is great and only about 100m to the sea. The walks around the area are also great and the walk into Aldeburgh is not that far (only about 2 miles). The team at Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages were great hosts and contacted me a couple of days before for access and if I needed any further info or directions. Overall a great stay and somewhere we would definitely return too. Thanks

Sparkling clean, very well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. Fantastic location. Big cupboard of games for rainy days!

We loved Puddleduck Cottage. Brilliantly equipped, fabulous powerful shower and spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds, and a great selection of games for the rainy afternoons. Centrally located in Aldeburgh, we were on the beach in minutes! Also dangerously close to our favourite Two Magpies Bakery!! There was nothing more we could have wished for. Welcome bottle of wine and beer were lovely touches, thank you! We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer!
Rebecca Mitchell, Puddleduck Cottage – October 2020
Great location, close to the beach
Charlotte Moseley, The Dower Retreat – October 2020
The property has lovely sea views, comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen and is in a great location, close to the beach and high street.
Flo Katesmark, York House – October 2020
We had a lovely stay. The house and garden are charming and Aldeburgh itself is a beautiful place with plenty to do.
Rob Martindill, Walnut Cottage – October 2020
Gorgeous cottage. Fab location. Everything you need. Clean, tidy, like home from home.
Julia Hogg, Ivy Cottage – October 2020
Lovely and quiet, cosy studio in pretty surroundings in a great position to explore the local area. 2 mins to lake, 5 to the sea. Lovely coastal walks to Aldeburgh one way and Sizewell the other.
Paul Matthews, The Bay Tree Studio – October 2020
Old rambling house in Thorpeness with great views and plenty of room: there’s separate dining and lounge rooms with a rumpus room out the back. There’s a well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms (albeit one has only a bath). It’s well placed in the village with short walks to the cafe, pub and beach. Aldeburgh is maybe a 20 to 25 minute walk away. Quiet and can easily accommodate big groups (although note most of the beds are single width). Instructions and communication are good. Recommended.
Paul Agapow, 3 The Haven – October 2020
Lovely comfortable home with a large garden in a great location. Great place to explore Suffolk!
Clare Henry, 18 Pilgrim’s Way – October 2020
Gorgeous well equipped cottage in a fantastic location
Nicola Neary, Puddleduck Cottage – October 2020
Our first Airbnb, surely they can’t all be as good as this place? A party of 4, we had a couple drop out at the last minute due to COVID issues. Lovely location, fantastically equipped, spotlessly clean could not have asked for more. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Exceeded all expectations, fantastic location, fantastically equipped, beautifully presented house.
Stephen Rash, 2 Ogilvie Lodge – October 2020
Brilliant location, lovely house.
Philip Bridgford, Swn-y-don – October 2020
A lovely clean, comfy little cottage. There was a nice pub and a co op close by too. Thank you, we loved our stay with you.
Rachel Dunmore-Sharples, Three Tuns Apartments – Weeping Willow – October 2020
Ideally situated right in the middle of town, facing onto the High Street, The Courtyard provides extremely comfortable and winter cosy accommodation – with a stable style front door and small garden room at the rear for warmer times. Fully equipped for self-catering, but with easy access to all retail shops, restaurants and of course Aldeburgh’s famous fish and chippy. It made a superb base from which to walk locally and explore this tranquil area of Suffolk. Car parking at the back (for a smallish car) certainly aided this relaxing “get away from it all” bolthole. Fully recommended. We have re-booked for 2021!
Jeff & Chris Coleman, The Courtyard – October 2020
Lovely place. Couldn’t fault the accommodation. Will book again as it’s the perfect location to explore Suffolk.
Dinesh Makwana, Three Tuns Apartments – Sycamore – October 2020
A wonderful light, airy house close to all the amenities of Aldeburgh. We enjoyed the large eat-in kitchen and the great en-suite shower room. We had lovely walks to Snape Maltings and the beach. Altogether a perfect place to stay. I would highly recommend.
Thanks so much; we had a wonderful stay. The house was contemporary, light and spacious and completely met our needs as a family. We all slept really well in the bedrooms and I particularly liked the en-suite shower room. We had great walks to Snape maltings and the beach at Aldeburgh and had delicious fish and chips. We all felt thoroughly refreshed going back to London and would highly recommend.
Camilla Freeman, Meadow View – October 2020
This was a wonderful house and a perfect getaway. The house was spotless and we spent many wonderful hours relaxing and walking by the sea. We will definitely try to book again in the future!
Margaret Westbury, The Dower Lodge – October 2020
Great house. Great location. Lots of space in the house. Excellent WiFi. Lovely garden area too. Perfect spot to explore the area from.
Andrew Farrell, 7 Whinlands – October 2020
Fabulous cliff top location with stunning views from Dower House. Impeccably clean and comfortable.
Rebecca Fuller, The Dower House – October 2020
Picturesque old house with beautiful views of the Suffolk countryside. Great social place with all the amenities you need. Helpful helpful team at ACC allowed us to stay an extra hour before checking out. Found it very tricky to find it in the dark so would recommend going in the day light!
Robyn Turnock, The Dairy House – October 2020
Beautiful, peaceful and spacious house in a fantastic location with a lovely homely atmosphere. Beds and sofas super clean and comfortable. Thorpeness is a great place to stay. We loved the beach and Meare, the Dolphin pub, mini golf – and so many things to do in the area. Communication was fast and efficient, easy check-in. Really enjoyed a much needed, fun family week away.
Ann Perrins, 1 Westgate – October 2020
Perfect location and perfect for a family – mind out for a steep staircase though if you have bad knees!
Siobhan Horisk, Drift In – October 2020
Lovely house, in a great location, on the beach and near to the shops and restaurants. Centrally located with lovely sea views from the bedrooms. Very comfortable house. Would recommend it.
Penny Batchelor, Trehafod – October 2020
Lovely house and very well stocked kitchen with all implements and utensils etc! Just to note main bathroom is on ground floor which wasn’t an issue for us but may be if you need the toilet in the night lots! I’d happily stay here again in the future 🙂
Anna Kaye, Amber Cottage – October 2020
Excellent location, quiet and peaceful
Russel Bacon, The Bay Tree Studio – October 2020
Wonderful house. A really amazing find. Lots of room and in a great location. We will definitely be coming back. We had a fantastic break. The house was everything we could of wanted and more. Thanks for all your help and the later check out. It made all the difference. Hope to be back again soon.
Ian Shinn, Dormy House – October 2020
Absolutely stunning property within a couple of minutes walking distance to Aldeburgh town centre, and a lovely 40 minutes walk to Thorpeness. Contemporary and cosy cottage vibes, and well equipped.
Karla Brooklyn, Church Farm Lodge – October 2020
Spacious downstairs living space and a great space to socialise. Right in the middle of Aldeburgh which was fantastic!
Sadie Waddelow, Shell Cottage – October 2020
We really enjoyed this cottage and were delighted to find that we could not only use the garden allocated to the cottage but also the 11acres of grounds belonging to the adjoining house of the owners which grounds run down to the estuary. Very dog friendly. Enjoyed use of the kayaks. Owners friendly and helpful. good bird watching at low tide and good walks from the cottage along the sea wall and over the golf course.
John, Beaver Cottage – October 2020
This apartment is in a small development with its own secure parking space. The apartment is well furnished and equipped with quality white goods. A bottle of wine and nibbles was a nice welcome on arrival. The apartment is a short, 2 minute walk, from the Aldeburgh sea front. The high street, with its shops and restaurants is an equally short walk away. From Aldeburgh you are reasonable distances from a variety of places including Snape Maltings and Sutton Hoo for the Saxon hoard exhibition.
Trusted customer, Stones Throw – October 2020
The accommodation was first class. The property has been recently refurbished to a very high standard, with no expense spared. It is set in beautiful grounds close to the beach in a remote location. Ideal for those who like a nice peaceful holiday.
Ken, St. Albans, The Dower Cottage – October 2020
Everything was there that we needed, very clean and bright. Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages were kind enough to let us know when the apartment was ready for us and we were able to access it early.
Alan Baird, Three Tuns Apartments – Sycamore – October 2020
Fab long weekend here with friends- great property and great location. House very clean and warm and toasty, nice sea views from the lounge.
Trusted customer, The Tower – October 2020
‘Perfect bolthole’ An absolutely lovely house in a fabulous location. Couldn’t recommend this property highly enough. Right on the beach and only a few minute walk from the high street.
Sophie, Gunfleet – October 2020
Out 5th stay at this property & everything perfect as usual. Comfortable, quiet & well appointed. Highly recommended!!
Bishops, Meadow View – October 2020
The lodge was superb throughout. Had a wonderful stay everything you needed was there. Some nice places to visit along the coast. Yarmouth only an hour away. Just shame about the weather. Will look to stay there again but earlier in the year, so we can sit outside.
Rob C, Sole Bay Lodge – October 2020
‘Fantastic place cannot wait to go back’ This was truly a family break to remember. amazing location incredible house with an abundance of space as well. cannot wait to go back soon.
Wayne H, Stoney Beach – October 2020
The rear entrance to the property is about 50m from the beach and 200m from the centre of town. Brilliantly located. Inside, it has a far more “cottagey” feel about it than the pictures may suggest. All the facilities are excellent and it was immaculately clean, when we arrived. Due to my mistake with the booking, we had a day less than expected. Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages went to great lengths to extend our stay, for a day; unfortunately, someone else was arriving. We had a fantastic time and hope to return. Thank you
ZB, Watermans – October 2020
Super convenient and perfect size cottage just off the High Street. Ideal for short breaks for enjoying the area. Clean, tidy and relatively spacious.
Trusted customer, The Tiller – October 2020
This is just a beautifully designed holiday space. We loved our short weekend break here and felt extremely relaxed afterwards. The log fire was fantastic and so cosy. Our four-legged friend had a whale of a time and loved exploring the garden and all the walks around the area. We will definitely be back here again. What a little gem. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay at Bay cottage. It truly was a fabulous weekend away and I would love to go back sometime.
Nicola Darling, Bay cottage – October 2020
We were pleasantly surprised how large the land was around the cottage, really superb to have so much empty space to view. A great, cosy cottage, just right for two couples. Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages were efficient and offered good customer service, overall a most enjoyable stay, we would definitely consider returning.
Gaylord, Briar Hill – October 2020
Lovely flat with fabulous views and very clean.
Margaret Lamb, Crag’s Nest – October 2020
We stayed at Laurel Studio at the end of September and we thought we would send you a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay. The studio was comfortable, clean and very convenient to the town and sea front. It was our first self catering holiday for over 20 years and we could not have picked a nicer place. The owner came to see us and made us very welcome and you were efficient and friendly to deal with (even helping us find the place as we don’t have satnav !). Thanks again
Peter and Glenys Coleman, Laurel Studio – October 2020
Swn-y-Don is a lovely, very comfortable, modern, well equipped three storey house/cottage with its own large terrace and garden in the heart of Aldeburgh, just a pebble’s throw from the beach. The main Airbnb picture probably doesn’t do the cottage justice as I certainly didn’t feel I was right next to a car park. We throughly enjoyed our couple of days there: comfortable sofas and beds, spacious bedrooms though the downstairs living area might be a little cosy for four (although the outdoor space will help in the warmer months). The water pressure was ok, the heating most definitely worked and the WiFi signal was good. COVID-19 precautions and processes in place made us at ease. Would love to return and spend a little longer there.
Nigel Maddison, Swn-y-Don – October 2020
This cottage is in a great location within easy reach of beaches and lovely walks. Cottage is light and airy and quiet. Had a lovely week here with our dogs – the private enclosed garden is an asset.
Michelle Flegg, 1 Suffolk Cottage – October 2020
Really well appointed stylish cottage. Great spot with room for parking one car very close to the beach and shops. Aldeburgh is a lovely place to stay and we had great meals locally. Thanks so much for having us for a well needed break.
Lesley O’Keeffe, The Lobster Pot – October 2020
Peaceful, tranquil, yet perfectly located. Thank you – we had a lovely time esp in the restricted circumstances, and loved the location and the peace and quiet.
Pete Burt, 7 Uplands – October 2020
Great little place to escape in. Very comfortable and in the middle of all the main must-see locations along the Suffolk coast.
Zack Malik, 1 Roseanna Cottage – October 2020
This cottage is in an excellent position for exploring Aldeburgh and the surrounding area. It is well equipped and very comfortable. We had a perfect stay and would thoroughly recommend Ivy Cottage.
Caroline Pellereau, Ivy Cottage – October 2020
Highly recommended. Located in the garden of the main house, this is a cosy, well-appointed, faultlessly-presented studio flat in a perfect location for beach access. Quiet & peaceful with a friendly team at Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages. Easy parking on the property. Super-comfy bed. Naturally, being a studio flat, the cooking facilities are limited to a two-ring hob & microwave – but for a long weekend, who needs more? Will definitely be back at The Bay Tree Studio again.
Chris Benstead, The Bay Tree Studio – October 2020
We found 14 Market Cross Place to be a delightful mix of relaxed beachy comfort and luxury. The pictures, though stunning, dont quite do the gorgeous views justice. Oh, that sunrise from bed this morning! The house had ample space for feeding and entertaining our large family and the location could not be better for town and beach access. Would not hesitate to recommend and re-book.
Molly J, 14 Market Cross Place – October 2020
A clean, well equipped and spacious cottage. Beds are comfy too!
Barbara Liversedge, 2 Hazelwood – October 2020
Amazing in so many ways
Paul Williams, Lyndhurst House – October 2020
Thank you so much for a lovely week in beautiful Suffolk. We do enjoyed our relaxing stay. The cottage was perfect, clean and spacious.
Joss Atkin, Appletree Cottage – October 2020
Sycamore is ideal for a couple staying a couple of nights in the area. Convenient for visiting Sutton Hoo and Minsmere. Has the basic facilities you need for cooking and apartment was very clean. Just what we wanted for a two night stay in the area. Pleased with the COVID security details.
Richard Adams, Three Tuns Apartments – Sycamore – October 2020
Lovely house, nice quiet location. Down the road from 2 local shops but need to travel to get to a bigger supermarket. Nice and clean house which felt very homely. Thank you.
Becki Harris, Meadow View – October 2020
Great property and fab location, we arrived late Friday evening- the heating was on and the property was warm and welcoming. Really clean and tidy and lovely to sit in the lounge and watch the sea.
Jennie, The Tower – October 2020
Couldn’t have wanted for more! Meare House is easy to find with plenty of off road parking. A large, attractive and spacious house that is more than big enough to sleep 6, 8 or 10. It is well appointed and importantly in 2020 is spotlessly clean! In addition to all amenities there’s the pleasure of a log burner and an elegant bath in the large master bedroom as well as sight of the lake from a couple of the windows. Though the October weather precluded this, it is set up for visitors outside in the garden with table and chairs etc. For anyone wishing to visit the beauty of Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Southwold we highly recommend it as a place to stay!
James Elliot, Meare House – October 2020
Cute cottage for two, tucked away down a farm track in peaceful location by the sailors path, and an easy walk to Snape. Had a lovely weekend despite almost continuous rain.
Emma Britton, The Dairy Cottage – October 2020
Fabulous. Thanks for sharing your property it was beautiful and near to everything.
Mandy Parsons, Pugwash Cottage – October 2020

Beautiful location with lots to do in the area. The house is clean with an exceptionally will equipped kitchen. Great place for a autumnal break.
Jessica Harris, 4 Old Homes – October 2020
Cottage is very spacious and comfortable, and location is brilliant, minutes from the beach, and plenty of great walks and good food in the area. Loved the cottage and the location, and thank you for being so responsive to the issues we raised while we were there. Hope to come back again.
Sharon Copitch, The Dower Cottage – October 2020
Perfect little getaway for a family and fury friends! Gorgeous views of the beach from the house and spotlessly clean. The house has ample space and is close to lots of local amenities such as fish and chip shops, restaurants, pubs, butchers and bakers. Would definitely recommend.
Charlotte Freeland, 14 Market Cross Place – October 2020
Great flat and locality as many of the other reviews have mentioned. Sunrises from the front window were great to see and the flat is definitely a comfortable home from home.
Sanda Evans, Leiston Apartment – October 2020
Amazing house and very peaceful location. Lovely views over nature reserve from the huge kitchen and impressive living room. Beds were very comfortable and good showers. You can walk down the footpath opposite to the village/sea in 10-15mins and into Aldeburgh (another 20mins). Lovely walking. Had an amazing time!
Emma Gillard, Crossing Cottage – October 2020
Lovely apartment – spacious and well-furnished. Great location. Would happily stay there again and recommend it to others.
Samir Nanji, Beachcombers – October 2020
A lovely cosy cottage. Perfect for a weekend break visiting this area of Suffolk. Highly recommend. We had a lovely weekend staying at Walnut Cottage. A great location for visiting this beautiful area of Suffolk. Can’t wait to visit here again.
Naomi Creane, Walnut Cottage – October 2020
What a lovely warm and cozy bungalow! It had all the amenities we could ask for and it was in a great location right in the middle of Thorpness. We went on walks everyday and used some of the maps that were in the “Things to do” draw. There is a great porch where we sat and ate lunch in the sunshine overlooking the garden. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
Anna-Marie Buss, 7 Uplands – October 2020
Location was fantastic, house cosy and clean, host very helpful would stay again.
Rebecca Noble, 3 The Haven – October 2020
Great location with lots of walks from the property. Spacious, sparkling clean, well equipped. Great wood burning stove for cosy nights in.
Andrew Bennett, The Dairy House – October 2020
Just a few minutes from the village center of Snape it’s a lovely cottage in the popular destination in Suffolk. Famous farm shop on Friday Street is just a minute drive as well as a grocery store plus shell gas station is in opposite direction. The property is idyllic and it makes you feel really at home. For foreign tourists, lovely opportunity to experience English country style cottage life. Everything is kept clean and organized. At last but not the least, Elizabeth is a truly super host with flexibility and really care about you during your stay. Bet you’ll get the best customer experience here.
Shotaro Fujimoto, Japan – October 2020
Super property in a magical location. Truly wonderful. Thank you for a perfect break xx
Sandi Robinson-Miller, Invershin – October 2020
We enjoyed 6 nights here in early September. The instructions for arrival were perfect and supplemented by a call from the booking agent a couple of days prior. The Studio was exactly as described. It was clean, modern and well appointed. The owner knocked the door shortly after our arrival to check if everything was OK – another nice touch. Whilst it is tucked away from the main streets, it is only a short walk onto the sea front. At night it was nice and quiet which enabled a decent sleep. The personal parking place outside is useful. It is only a short walk along quiet tracks to the two supermarkets. We liked it so much that we have booked again for next year.
Roger from Chesterfield, Laurel Studio – October 2020
Beautiful place surrounded by gorgeous scenery! If you’re looking to escape from everything and just enjoy some peace and quiet this is by far the place to stay! Everything was spotlessly clean and felt very welcome on arrival. Fantastic hosts and fantastic place, can’t wait to stay again x
Emma Christmas, Appletree Cottage – October 2020
Words cannot describe how stunning both the property and the views were. The weather was pretty atrocious but we didn’t care as we sat and watched the sea in comfort. Pub and fresh fish on the doorstep an added advantage.
Claire Ward, The Lookout – October 2020
Superb cottage in a great location! Really enjoyed our stay, many thanks
Stephen Collins, The Old Customs House – October 2020
This flat is modern and stylish, the kitchen is beautiful with all the top spec appliances. There was no noise from the surrounding flats. It was easy to find.
Rachel Edwards, Leiston Apartment – October 2020
Mansard House was so beautiful! It felt really clean and well-appointed. We had such a great time there!
Caitlin FitzGerald, Mansard House – October 2020
Idyllic apartment in peaceful location in wonderful Aldeburgh. This was our 3rd short break to Aldeburgh, and this time we have found the perfect accommodation that we will definitely return to. The studio is so well layed out, and tastefully decorated throughout. You can stay here any time of the year – sit on the balcony with your morning coffee, or get all toasty in front of the wood burner. Laurel Studio is positioned perfectly, so quiet and peaceful, with views of the boats moored on the River Alde, yet a very short walk to the centre of Aldeburgh. We can’t recommend this apartment enough – we will return.
Marc D, Desborough, Laurel Studio – October 2020
Cute cottage for two, tucked away down a farm track in peaceful location by the sailors path, and an easy walk to Snape. Had a lovely weekend despite almost continuous rain.
Emma Britton, The Dairy Cottage – October 2020
We love the great outdoors and being able to have the dogs with us to explore the beautiful Suffolk coastline is brilliant. A lovely flat well positioned for the sea. Parking close by, beach pretty much on the doorstep, and everything you need for a self catering break away.

This is a lovely little property, perfect for two of us to stay in while visiting our daughter nearby. It’s warm and comfortable (we had quite a rainy week).
Alison Siriwardena, Britten Close -October 2020
Stony Beach is perfectly located being close to town amenities and to the beach. The views of the sea are stunning from the front of the house and of the Alde at the back. It is comfortable, spacious and well equipped. In fact, it probably has the best equipped kitchen I’ve ever stayed in! We loved it!
Robert Mason, Stony Beach – October 2020
Very nice upside down house tucked away in Thorpeness country club. You can see a little slice of sea between the properties that are on the sea front, the shingle beach is about thirty seconds walk from the front door. Highly recommend The Kitchen restaurant for hearty breakfasts and the like.
David Brown, 2 Bell Lodge – October 2020
‘Spotless, comfortable bolthole perfect for a single traveller’ Robin’s Egg is down a private road within a short walk of Aldeburgh High Street and beach. As a single lady, I felt totally secure in this property and it was an ideal size too. The bed is super comfortable, the shower room is superb and the smart tv with YouTube kept me happily entertained every evening. It is a self-contained part of a large family home and I was welcomed on my arrival by the lady of the house, who told me to knock if I needed anything. It’s lovely to be made to feel welcome at any time, but especially so at the moment.
Lyn – Cambridgeshire, Robin’s Egg – September 2020
‘Beautiful place to stay’ My partner and I stayed in The Dower Retreat for 4 nights and wish it could have been longer. The accommodation is spotless and tastefully furnished to a high standard. Loved the decor. Highly recommend this one bedroom apartment to stay in. I am sure we will go back again and explore further the lovely part of the Suffolk coastline.

An excellent property, perfect position and surrounded by all that you could want with walks, restaurants and the beach.
Sheila De Cordova, Stoney Beach – September 2020
A lovely little cottage in a great location. Everything that you need for a comfortable stay for two to three people. It’s in a great location just 5 minutes walk from the beach and the Mere, yet still very quiet. We stay here every year and have already booked for next year.
Julie F, 7 Uplands – September 2020
Splendid retreat. The Bay Tree Studio is a little gem set in a very secluded setting. It is just a 10 minute walk to the village cafe and pub who both do first class catering. The beach is the same distance and the walk to Aldeburgh or Sizewell is a joy to behold.
David, The Bay Tree Studio – September 2020
Spending a week at Crag’s nest was a delight. The location is a few dozen metres from the sea with only a narrow dead-end (and so quiet) road in between. The flat is newly refurbished and is relaxing and comfortable. Fine local restaurants, pubs and the famous fish and chip shop are only a minute or so walk away. Convenient private parking at the rear. Highly recommended.
Frank, Crag’s Nest – September 2020
The house is near the Dolphin Pub and just past some glorious alms houses. The garden and house are great for a family. 2 big nicely appointed double bedrooms and a third with bunks. The bathrooms are airy and very clean. There are so many kitchen utensils and equipment. Very good. In Leiston there is a fabulous fish and a chinese restaurant which during lockdown orders can be placed and collected at a designated times. No queuing which you get in Aldeburgh. The sea is about a 10 minute walk away and although stony is great for walking along and swimming. Walks from the house are abundant. All in all a great stay in a great place.
Linda M, 18 Pilgrim’s Way – September 2020
Home from home. Well situated for exploring the Suffolk coast and attractions. Lazy Days was furnished to a very high standard Everything you could possibly want was to hand. Fabulous weather which always helps. Hope to return next Spring.
Alan Winch, Lazy Days – September 2020
Excellent location, lovely sea view, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped. We had a very enjoyable week in this house. It is perfectly located within the town, a few minutes walk from the main shops, yet on the sea front with a great view from the 1st floor living room and main 2nd floor bedroom. Despite being so central it is very quiet. The rooms are all very spacious and the kitchen well-equipped (even an oyster knife!). There is no reserved parking for the property, but there is free on-street parking outside the property and in the narrow side street – although this is in high demand we had no problems finding a space, even during a very warm weekend.
Trusted customer from Trip Advisor, 14 Market Cross Place- September 2020
Beautifully clean cottage, with everything you could want – a real home from home. Lovely weather meant we could sit outside in the daytime, relax and enjoy the peacefulness and nature. The cottage was so cosy in the cooler evenings. Would definitely return.
CB, Cheshire, Appletree Cottage- September 2020
This venue is a gem – everything spot on – fantastic! From beginning to end the visit was excellent – we even had great weather everyday – the house was great, so was its location, the sea was within 59 metres, and the local restaurants and fish retailers were great! We have absolutely no complaints – for any new visitor they should be warned that parking is an issue – if when you arrive and find a space keep it – use the bus or walk as you may not find any space when you return. Great visit – well done to you all – and many thanks!
Barry Noble, The Old Customs House – September 2020
We had a fabulous 4 night stay. The house is beautiful and in a stunning location. Aldeburgh is a pretty seaside town with lots of amenities, there are great walks from the house in all directions. We really couldn’t fault it. Thank you for a wonderful stay, just what we all needed in fact we really didn’t want to leave.
Catherine, Lillingstone Lovell, Gunfleet – September 2020
Great place to stay, location is perfect to discover other parts of Suffolk from. Thank you, it’s a great place to stay and the location is perfect to drive to other places .
Ruth Van Loen, Three Tuns Apartments – Maple – September 2020
Great location and right in the heart of all the amenities. The Lodge is right on the beach although a sea view is only possible upstairs. There was plenty of room for a family of four and the place was comfortable with all the usual facilities. The accommodation was clean and well presented. Care had been taken to ensure that Covid concerns were minimal. There was plenty of parking space out front and use of the Country Club facilities would be a real bonus when things are back to normal. Eating out is limited in Thorpeness itself although the Dolphin Inn was excellent, other local eateries require a car drive. All in all a very pleasant break in a unique venue.
Steve Curtis, 2 Ogilvie Lodge – September 2020
Immaculate flat – neighbours very friendly and very quiet. We had a really lovely time in Suffolk – parked the car on arrival and got back in to come home on day seven! Perfect area for cycling, walking and canoeing. I have to note, that the beds were possibly the most comfortable we have ever slept on!
Patrick Mills, Leiston Apartment – September 2020

Lovely house in great location right in the centre of Thorpeness. We were a group of 6 friends and it was perfect. Very clean. Check in very quick and easy and Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages was very accommodating on timings. Would love to come back!

Enjoyed a wonderful week at 3 Beach Cottages. We were delighted with this spacious and comfortable holiday home which proved to be an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Suffolk Coast – exactly what we wanted. Really impressed with the quality of accommodation Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages have to offer. Already thinking about our next staycation!

Nikhil Cherian, Pugwash Cottage – September 2020
Ivy Cottage is cosy, nicely furnished, warm & comfortable; we had everything we needed. The courtyard at the back & the bench in the front garden gives some nice outdoor places to sit and read. The location is near to the shops, beach, pubs & restaurants. There is parking very nearby & we parked up the car and walked everywhere for the whole stay. Jim & Alison
Jim Cowan, Ivy Cottage – September 2020
A large, light, comfortable house in a fantastic location, plenty of space for everyone. Next to the sea and so close to all the shops and restaurants.
Gunfleet, Claire Fuller – September 2020
From the minute we arrived, we felt safe (as it was so clean) re: COVID management and also completely at home. An absolutely lovely, airy property, in a super location. We have had a great few days, but it seems longer as it was so relaxing. Please pass on our thanks to the owners and person/people responsible for preparing it for us. We will definitely be in touch in the future to book with you.
Susan Todd , Beachcomber – September 2020
We enjoyed a wonderful holiday here, the sea view and accommodation were a delight. Excellent for walking just off the coastal path.
Christine, The Dower Lodge – September 2020
‘Quirky house with a great history’ The accommodation is excellent, very cosy and had everything we needed. Ideally situated for the beach and town centre with great walks.
Howie, Manchester, The Old Custom House – September 2020
‘Perfect for a peaceful and relaxing break’. Thorpeness is quaint and charming. This wooden cottage is tucked away but within walking distance of the golf club, pub, cafe and shingle beach. If you are looking for somewhere to chill out this is perfect as, although there is access to park a car, it is not really on a road. The cottage is compact, but comfortable and had everything we needed, with plenty of outside space with seating on a covered veranda. Lots of good walks nearby, and Aldeburgh is around a mile away (level walk) for shops etc.
