Description
Located in the popular seaside town of Aldeburgh ‘Mansard House’ is a large, beautifully converted property which is conveniently situated on the High Street – just a stone’s throw away from the beach and an excellent range of shops, restaurants and pubs. It’s also the perfect location for discovering the beautiful coastline of Suffolk – on foot, bicycle or by car.
The entrance to this property is on Chopping Hill, just off the High Street and the accommodation is arranged over three floors. This attractive pet friendly property can accommodate parties of up to nine guests.
Once inside you will find the ground floor offers a well-equipped kitchen, a generous dining area with views out onto the High Street and two living rooms with one offering direct access onto the decking and garden. The first floor and second floor feature five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Whether you decide to simply relax locally and enjoy the many attractions available on your doorstep, or explore the area fully, Mansard House provides a fantastic retreat and great place to base whatever time of the year you visit.

Ground Floor
Large Entrance Lobby: Room for plenty of coats and boots and a back door leading into the back garden. Wide steps from the entrance lobby lead up to the kitchen with the dining room beyond. These rooms are above an Adnams shop affording views along the High Street in both directions.
Kitchen: Dishwasher, Falcon range cooker with five gas hobs and three ovens, side by side stainless steel fridge/freezer and a large wine fridge

Dining Area: Large rectory table with long benches either side providing seating for twelve people, wood burning stove, I-pod dock, radio/CD player, three large windows with views out to the High Street
Living Room: Wood burning stove, two three seater sofas, flat screen TV, DVD player. Steps lead to glazed doors which provide direct access onto the raised decking, with steps down to the rear garden

A very warm and comfortable house. Well equipped and spacious. Nice to have the opportunity to spend some quiet time in a cosy sitting room if needed. Only a few steps from the beach and next door to the famous Two Magpies bakery. Lots of stairs, which happily wasn’t a problem for us. Although there is no parking on site it was easy to find space in the streets behind. We would definitely stay again

Stayed for two nights with a group of friends. The house was perfect for our needs. Emma was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. The house was clean and very well kitted out. Sitting on the deck in the evening was particularly special. Early morning swims and beach walks were fantastic. We had the most amazing weekend and thank you to Emma for allowing us to stay in this beautiful house.

The house is in a perfect location; it’s right in the middle of the high street but also feels quite secluded and private. Check-in was very easy, the kitchen was really well-equipped, the bedrooms and shared spaces were all clean and spacious, the outdoor terrace was really pleasant and inviting. The hosts were very proactive and responsive: they called on the day of arrival to let us know it was possible to check in earlier than expected, and when I asked they were also open to being flexible on the check-out time, which was a great help. Would absolutely stay again or recommend to friends.

We really enjoyed our stay in Aldeburgh at Mansard House and the location was perfect for the high street and beach. The property is light and airy and clean throughout and it was great having a large dining area where everyone could sit to chat, eat breakfast, play games etc. There were plenty of shower rooms/ toilets etc for our group of 9. The first level of three bedrooms worked well for the children and their parents so they could all be together on the same floor. The bedrooms in the roof are quite restrictive, height wise. There was great outside space with the decking and the garden.

We booked this relatively last minute and it was a gem of a find. The house is light, spacious, very clean and tastefully decorated. The location, on the high street and less than a minute from the beach is perfect and meant we could really enjoy all Aldeburgh has to offer. Would highly recommend!

We had a really enjoyable stay at Mansard House. The kitchen and dining room are extremely spacious and well kitted out. The deck is a wonderful little sun trap where we enjoyed many a glass of wine in the evening and it’s the perfect location for fetching your fresh loaf and pastries in the morning from the Two Magpies Bakery.

Had a lovely stay in dreamy Aldeburgh, the house is larger than it looks in photos and fully equipped. We LOVED the log burner in the living room, made our December stay really cosy. The team were really helpful and easy to contact. Aldeburgh is a great little place to stay we particularly enjoyed all the independent shops and how friendly everyone is. We could recommend the Escargot sur Mer pop up restaurant and also walking up to Thorpeness along the beach for a pub lunch in the very cosy Dolphin Inn

The house is beautifully laid out with so many lovely features. We loved the large hallway, plenty of space for our big family. The kitchen is very well equipped and the drinks fridge was well received. The beautiful sunny kitchen lends itself to a fabulous shared space with the large table, stunning dresser and wood burner. The 2 lounges are lovely and cosy and the opening into the decking is another great feature. Plenty of bathrooms for a big family, and the attic bedrooms are cute. Good use of the eaves, creating wardrobe spaces for all the bedrooms. The lighting throughout is very effective. The position of the house is spot on for all amenities. Extremely well situated for shops, cafes, pubs and the beach. Parking was freely available behind the accommodation. The garden was spacious and established , lovely for watching the garden birds and lots of bees and butterflies. Plenty of seating in the garden, along with a bbq lending itself to a well spent afternoon soaking up the September sun. We would love to return in the future
