Customer Reviews
A great house in a great location. Very peaceful. Would definitely recommend.
Richard – June 2023
Very convenient for pubs and shops. Beautiful, quiet cottage. It has everything you need, plus! Already been twice, will go again as soon as we can.
John L – March 2022
Peace quiet & tranquillity! We found this cottage on Aldeburgh Coastal Cottage website & dealt with Lisa who was both polite & informative not only about the cottage but also the general area. It’s a superb detached cottage in nearly 4 acres of private & very secluded grounds & with their sun loungers providing us us with the perfect sun tan top up. Indeed the the quiet secluded grounds provides the perfect holiday for both naturalist & naturist with the abundant variety of bird life with the peace, quiet & total privacy. We spotted around a dozen different varieties of birds & numerous squirrels. Inside the cottage our king size bed was very comfortable with lovely views of the garden. The bathroom shower over the bath was manageable & also offered great views of the garden. The kitchen is well equipped providing us with everything needed between eating out. The sun loungers were used daily & in the evening it was nice to sit on the comfortable patio furniture reading. The cottage is ideally located for Aldeburgh & also Snape Maltings, Woodbridge & Southwold. We ate out at different establishments & would highly recommend The Lion Inn in Little Glemham for good honest home style cooked food. We would highly recommend a holiday here for peace, quiet & privacy.

It’s a charming ‘lodge-type’ house with a very spacious feel and daylight pouring in on every side. Very comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, strong wifi, efficient central heating and a lovely wood-burner in the lounge. The house is tucked away in its own private grounds, which are vast and stunningly beautiful. We were there in time for the spectacular leaf display happening wherever you looked, but I imagine it’s especially lovely in the summer, sitting outside in the open-yet-secluded garden. Briar Hill is very well situated: there’s plenty to explore in the local area, with endless beach walks just 10 mins away in the car. We would certainly stay here again.
Nick Martin – November 2020
Comfortable beds; well equipped kitchen. Loved the wood burning stove. Huge grounds to run around in and beautiful surrounding area to visit.
Hannah Mullen – October 2020
We were pleasantly surprised how large the land was around the cottage, really superb to have so much empty space to view. A great, cosy cottage, just right for two couples. Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages were efficient and offered good customer service, overall a most enjoyable stay, we would definitely consider returning.
Gaylord – October 2020
Really nice cottage in a beautiful setting. You have loads of outdoor space to yourself, with lots of birds and wildlife to spot. Also in a great location – you can walk to Thorpeness beach through country paths, or to Aldeburgh if you fancy a longer walk. The cottage itself is clean and well-furnished with a really comfy bed. The only (very minor) issue was that the posting says that things like tea, salt, pepper etc are provided but these were sparse so we had to go and buy more – it would’ve been better to have known to bring our own from the start. But this was a minor, its a really lovely place to stay.
Thanks for a lovely stay, the cottage and (especially) the surroundings were beautiful
Mary Robertson – August 2020
‘Absolutely loved our stay on this delightful cottage’ – We had a fab Christmas at Briar Hill. Beautiful cottage, immaculately maintained and well equipped. Great location with both sea and country close. Pub within walking distance. Lovely grounds and although we didn’t see any otters we did meet two very friendly mini donkeys next door. Very comfortable beds and bedding and the wood burner was a real asset. Would definitely recommend and would like to return. The agents too were very helpful and had provided a Christmas tree and treats for us and provided a couple of new pans on request.
Lupin, London – January 2020
‘Lovely Place’ – Had a lovely time at Briar Hill, the house is nicely decorated and really clean, the kids loved playing around in the MASSIVE garden. Totally recommend.
David, Earls Barton – January 2020
‘Perfect cottage for a Christmas break’
Lovely place in large wild grounds. Good location nearish to pub and beach. Very responsive agent who supplied us with extra baking pans. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
Katy Cheetham – December 2019
Really quiet spot to get away from it all.
Seamless check in and check out, the property was ideal for us, with open plan downstairs and 2 good sized bedrooms. The main selling point for us was the proximity to the coast and the large grounds which were perfect for the kids to run around in and explore.
Oliver M – Briar Hill – September 2019
We loved our stay here and are hoping to stay again very soon. But the lovely people we met from Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages, and Andrew (the gardener) made our stay very special. We had a small issue and they sent someone within 5 minutes to help and dealt with everything with a smile. Thank you. Even if we cannot stay in that house again we will go out of our way to use Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages again.
Jeanette B. – Briar Hill – February 2019
Once again superb service from Angela and her team finding us a late booking. This was our 8th rental with Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages which surely says it all.
High quality accommodation in a beautiful location.
