Customer Reviews
It was like coming home. We know Thorpeness very well. Accommodation suited us perfectly.
Ann – June 2024
A Thorpeness period bungalow. We had a minor problem which was sorted very quickly. Lisa was on the ball even though it was Saturday night.
Richard – June 2023
Great place stay. Clean and comfortable with a fab back garden to sit in. Great location, ideal for exploring the local area
JoAnn – May 2022
A lovely vintage wooden chalet with all mod cons in a quirky location that has to be seen to be believed. It’s many years since we holidayed on the Suffolk coast and we really enjoyed it. PS – the Golf Club restaurant at the end of the road is a truly hidden gem, with great food at sensible prices! PPS – read scrapbook folder before venturing out around the village – it will repay you in spades!
Mark – April 2022
We had a cosy Christmas in this sweet cottage. It’s in a lovely location and very handy for the beach and surrounding walks. The spacious covered verandah would be great in summer for drizzly days when you still want to be outside.
Elizabeth – December 2021
Excellent location and cosy accommodation.
Linda – November 2021
We, a couple, had such a wonderful time at 7 Uplands. It met all our expectations and was simply perfect for us. We had an amazing break with the weather which was amazing every day and sitting out on the verandah with morning tea and coffee, in the evening for meals or games of cards and scrabble leaves us with such fond memories. We walked everywhere and did at least 10 miles per day across heathland, marshland and of course the coastal walks both north and south. The cottage had everything we needed for our week and we are seriously considering returning soon. Also all staff were so helpful in helping with our arrangements. Thank you so much.

Lovely location, tucked away but near the beach and the local attractions. Small but perfectly formed for our short break, the veranda provided an extra room – great for an evening drink and alfresco dining. Great communication and was very accommodating.
Shika – August 2021
Well equipped accommodation in a great, peaceful location. Lovely outdoor space, and great to relax on the veranda. Thank you for a great stay in Thorpeness. We were impressed by how well equipped the accommodation was, and appreciated the call to allow us early entry to the property.

Toby – June 2021
Lovely cottage in the beautiful village of Thorpeness. I’ve stayed there 3 times now and I’m sure I’ll go back again. I love being able to walk to the beach and in the evening I had it mostly to myself.
Martine – May 2021
Peaceful, tranquil, yet perfectly located. Thank you – we had a lovely time esp in the restricted circumstances, and loved the location and the peace and quiet.
Pete Burt – October 2020
What a lovely warm and cozy bungalow! It had all the amenities we could ask for and it was in a great location right in the middle of Thorpness. We went on walks everyday and used some of the maps that were in the “Things to do” draw. There is a great porch where we sat and ate lunch in the sunshine overlooking the garden. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
Anna-Marie Buss – October 2020
A lovely little cottage in a great location. Everything that you need for a comfortable stay for two to three people. It’s in a great location just 5 minutes walk from the beach and the Mere, yet still very quiet. We stay here every year and have already booked for next year.
Julie F – September 2020
‘Perfect for a peaceful and relaxing break’. Thorpeness is quaint and charming. This wooden cottage is tucked away but within walking distance of the golf club, pub, cafe and shingle beach. If you are looking for somewhere to chill out this is perfect as, although there is access to park a car, it is not really on a road. The cottage is compact, but comfortable and had everything we needed, with plenty of outside space with seating on a covered veranda. Lots of good walks nearby, and Aldeburgh is around a mile away (level walk) for shops etc.
K C, Bromsgrove – September 2020
Thorpeness is lovely and quiet once the day trippers have left you have the beach almost to yourself. It’s a short stroll from the mere and a very short walk up to the gold course gardens for a meal and a drink. Lovingly restored accommodation. We felt confident that it had been thoroughly cleaned. All windows were open when we arrived to allow ventilation. Gardens front and back, and off road parking for a smaller car at the back.

Small but very well laid out and extremely clean and comfortable. Sitting on the veranda is so nice! Central but quiet and secluded location. Loved it!
Alison Gold – July 2020
We loved staying here, it might look quirky but ignore the appearance – it’s a gem! Quiet, comfortable and relaxing with all you need.
Bruce Pibworth – March 2020
