Sole Bay Lodge, Sizewell, Near Thorpeness

Perfect location for beach and pizza! – The lodge was perfect for us and our new rescue dog. The accommodation was comfortable and our visiting great niece particularly enjoyed the toybox. The pizzas from next door were delicious and the bar was friendly and well stocked. We all enjoyed opening the doors of the lodge and being right by the beach. The sunrise over the sea was fabulous from the lodge.

Much Needed Oasis
Amazing location. Couldn’t have wished for a better view of the sea. Comfortable Lodge, with everything we needed. Perfect for the two of us. We went just before the school summer holidays, and the Club House next door didn’t intrude on our holiday at all, even though it was popular each day. We can also thoroughly recommend their pizzas and cream teas! The site as a whole was clean, well maintained and quiet, and well situated with nearby supermarkets in Saxmundham. Located near to Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, and only a short distance to Southwold, Snape, Woodbridge, etc. We will definitely be booking a return visit.

Everything was perfect. The view on the picture does not do it justice. The beach was quiet even in gloriously warm weather. The property was clean, tidy and had everything you could possibly want. Will 100% be back.

Beautiful lodge with stunning sea views right next to the beach. A dog walkers heaven with plenty of trails from the doorstep. Immaculate site, well equipped accommodation and only a short drive to Southwold, Thorpeness and Aldeburgh. Highly recommended for those wanting a relaxing break as close to the sea as you can get!!

We had a wonderful stay, the lodge was beautiful and cosy. A proper home from home and in the perfect location overlooking the beach. It’s a very special place. The host thought of everything and even had a selection of condiments available, and board games to boot. We will definitely return.

Amazing location, the view will take your breath away. A beautiful beach that you look out onto directly and is, I think, the prettiest beach in Suffolk because of the dunes, the combination of shingle and sand at low tide and the grasses/gorse bushes. Very comfortable thoughtful accommodation. A perfect stay!

The lodge was superb throughout. Had a wonderful stay everything you needed was there. Some nice places to visit along the coast. Yarmouth only an hour away. Just shame about the weather. Will look to stay there again but earlier in the year, so we can sit outside.

Sole Bay Lodge was possibly one of the best places I have ever stayed so much so that I have booked again for December. The place had the most fantastic setting right on the beach front, was spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything you could want. I would defy anyone to visit this property and not be 100% impressed.

What can I say the most marvellous lodge a fantastic setting sheer bliss. The lodge was spotlessly clean, spacious and homely. Bedrooms a nice size with jack and Jill bathroom with it being en-suite to master bedroom. Kitchen very well equipped including tea towels dishwasher tablets and many more basics including a bag of ice in the freezer. The view from veranda was spectacular and luckily we had nice clear skies so saw sun and moon rising just stunning. Home made pizzas also cooked on site including gluten free. We didn’t want to come home and will be back very soon

All you need for a short stay. Fantastic location especially for us who are keen walkers with a dog. Had early morning and late night strolls on the beach. During day explored local areas either to Aldeburgh by foot (about 1.5 hrs there) or Southwold by car. Good choice of supermarkets 15 mins away. We like quieter holidays so going this time of year was ideal for us. We probably wouldn’t choose this location in peak times but we definitely would return again out of season for the peace and wonderful coastal walks.

Stayed here twice now right on the beach. Beautiful cosy lodge, everything you need, very clean. Owners go out of their way to help. Left us a bottle of bubbly and a Christmas card which was a lovely touch. We feel like their only guests which I’m sure they do for all. We can’t wait to stay in summer and use the gorgeous veranda sitting in the sunshine or warm evening with a glass or two. Everything you need gas central heating, tv, clean fresh bedding and towels, gas job, electric oven, dishwasher, lovely bathroom and shower and two bedrooms
