A truly stunning barn conversion located on a quiet track on the outskirts of the seaside village of Thorpeness. Designed, built and styled to a very high standard, this ‘hidden gem’ is perfect for a romantic getaway or a place to explore the very best of the Suffolk coastline.
‘Mission Lodge’ has been sympathetically renovated to uncompromising standards of design and quality. The property offers an open plan living area with a wood burner, kitchenette and an ensuite bedroom with sliding doors open out onto courtyard – perfectly designed for days and nights in, in all seasons.
The village of Thorpeness, is set around a boating lake known as ‘The Meare’. Thorpeness also boasts its own country club, tennis courts, famous golf course, cafés and pub/restaurant. There are many more amenities including galleries, a cinema, fine dining restaurants and pubs in nearby Aldeburgh.
There are wonderful walks from the door but it’s a great base too for exploring the Suffolk Heritage coast and visiting near-by attractions including Snape Maltings, the Sutton Hoo ship burial, Minsmere bird reserve, Framlingham castle, Orford Ness and castle.
This is a truly special coastal retreat and perfect for couples.

Perfect weekend away for 2, lovely cosy lodge with log burner which we enjoyed. Bed was super comfy, everything felt recently built so bathroom and kitchen was well furnished and really clean! We had a slight issue with the power cutting out but they did resolve this relatively quickly. Lovely walks into Thorpeness and Aldeburgh, overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

What a wonderful cottage, it had everything a couple could want. It was spotlessly clean,warm and decorated to a high standard. The owners were friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay again.

A fabulous Scandinavian style cabin which was perfect as a short break in Thorpeness for my wife and I. It was well equipped and felt brand new. Just a minutes walk to the beach and wonderful restaurants nearby. We even managed to take a rowing boat out onto the lake. Definitely recommended for a couple wanting a peaceful break by the sea, with plenty to do nearby.

Great to be so close to the sea and hear it, if not see it. Traffic can be heard but not loudly and evenings are very quiet. Everything you need for 2 people and nice safe parking too. Place is very private and looks brand new. Nice walk into Aldeburgh. Good pub and cafes close by. Boating lake is lovely to sit next to. Would recommend.
