Description
Situated in the heart of the beautiful seaside village of Thorpeness, 6 Lakeside Avenue is ideal for guests who have come to visit the area for long or short breaks all year round as it is just a short walk from the beach, golf course, pub and Meare, where you can hire boats to explore the islands.
The bustling seaside town of Aldeburgh is a couple of minutes away by car and boasts some lovely restaurants, cafés, shops and pubs. The marshes between Thorpeness and Aldeburgh are perfect for bird watchers and there are plenty of lovely walks in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The house has a big utility room, lovely large kitchen and breakfast room, two sitting rooms (both with TV’s) five bedrooms including two on the ground floor and three bathrooms.
There is a private enclosed back garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ as well as a front garden.
In the back garden, separate from the main house, is a studio apartment that sleeps two guests. The studio has its own terrace and outdoor furniture and inside there is an open plan sleeping/ kitchen area with a separate bathroom. The main house can be let with or without the studio but there will be additional charges incurred should you wish to book it. We stayed over Christmas with 3 generations aged 91 to 19. The house suited us perfectly. Lots of space for games in one room, tv in another and quiet napping in another. We all loved it. Lots of good quality kitchen equipment to support Christmas feasting. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

6 Lakeside Avenue was absolutely beautiful. It was as per the Airbnb website and everything was as expected. The house is very spacious and very welcoming, so plenty of room for the 6 of us and having 3 bathrooms was very helpful too. It was very comfortable to relax in the 2 lounges. The kitchen and dining room were large and the bedrooms are lovely and very comfortable. The house is in a great location for walks and visiting the nearby villages or just a short walk to Thorpeness. Close to the lake and the sea. We all loved our 4 day stay at this beautiful house. Beautiful house, our second stay here and it didn’t disappoint. Clean, well equipped and spacious – great playroom with toys and games for the kids. Fantastic location, stones throw from the lake and ice creams and a couple of minutes walk to the lovely beach. The oven broke whilst half way through our holiday and communication was great, and it was fixed by the next day. Perfect house for large family groups and for those with young children
