Always wanted to stay in Thorpeness. The house was perfect for us, our 2 children and their families.

We rented for a 60th weekend away. Ideal size for 2 parents, 4 adult couples, 2 young children and a small dog. A few couples had twin rooms but the rumour going around is some of them got a better nights sleep! We got a call much earlier than the check in time to tell use the house was ready which was great. Clean and plenty of room in the lounge and kitchen to sit. All the cooking utensils needed to cook for a large group, the two fridges really helped. There was enough room in the larger bedrooms for a travel cot. Bit of a queue for the upstairs shower in the morning but was very spacious once in. Beach is 100% stones, 0% sand. But if you want sand it’s a 20 min drive to Southwold. The dolphin pub is a 2 min walk, great food and beer garden. Take a short drive to Friday street farm shop for good local meat and a whole room dedicated to cheese. Can also organise a Tesco delivery to the house rather than travelling with it. In short we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was friendly and helpful. It feels homely and is warm, comfortable and spacious. It is also well equipped (including with CDs, DVDs, games and books) and there is plenty of parking outside.

The house is lovely, full of old fashioned charm. It was extremely clean and well equipped. The village is picturesque with its own boating lake, the house in the clouds is a must to see. The local pub/restaurant, The Dolphin Inn is good, but suggest you book for a table well in advance, it is very popular.
