Two miles from Aldeburgh, this self catering holiday cottage is full of character with a garden that has stunning views of Thorpeness Meare and is located close to the local village amenities.

Great location, easy to find and everything we needed was inside.

We found Emma’s place very comfortable, and easy to walk to the Dolphin pub and other eating places. The view was lovely and a good location for exploring the surrounding area. Lovely coastal walks to Aldeburgh, or Sizewell. The house could do with a bit of updating and general maintenance. In all we had a good few days away. Thorpeness is a beautiful place to explore.

We had a lovely break in this very comfortable cottage. We were only a small group however there are 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and plenty of space. We had very wet and windy weather but the house was really cosy after a walk on the beach. We had a good Sunday roast at the pub round the corner and it is definitely a property we will use again.

We had a fabulous stay! The cottage was perfect for our extended family and children and even had a games room in the garage. It was the perfect location to explore the local area including Snape, Aldeburgh and Southwold. Thorpeness itself was beautiful, there were two cafes, lake and even an emporium. We also enjoyed crazy golf at the golf club. We would definitely visit again.

Such a beautiful location with lovely views of the lake. Cosy house with everything you need for a few days of R&R. The walk from Thorpeness to Aldeburgh is fun with a great chip shop and nice shops to wander around. Also enjoyed a mooch around the Emporium and a morning at Snape Maltings.

Old rambling house in Thorpeness with great views and plenty of room: there’s separate dining and lounge rooms with a rumpus room out the back. There’s a well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms (albeit one has only a bath). It’s well placed in the village with short walks to the cafe, pub and beach. Aldeburgh is maybe a 20 to 25 minute walk away. Quiet and can easily accommodate big groups (although note most of the beds are single width). Instructions and communication are good. Recommended.
