Occupying a wonderful, tucked away position in the popular and enchanting village of Thorpeness, Mill House offers a perfect blend of period features and modern conveniences. This is a large house with plenty of room for social gatherings and with secrets spaces from which to enjoy peace and quiet.
A particular feature of this house is the capacious sitting/dining area that is flooded with natural light and offers panoramic views of the garden and beyond. Large bifold doors open out to the terrace and garden – a wonderful area for informal entertaining al fresco. On warm days, open the bifold doors, sit back and savour the scene.The grounds are meticulously maintained and largely laid to lawn with established shrubs and trees providing a mature setting.
The ground floor also consists of an impressive snooker room, TV/game room, a well equipped kitchen and one bedroom. A staircase leads to the first where further four generously sized bedrooms are located, each with its own unique character.
This traditional house is just a stone’s throw from all the attractions of Thorpeness. These include the famous House in the Clouds, the windmill, the Meare (a lake with rowing boats and kayaks you can hire to explore its many islands and even a pirate’s fort!), The Dolphin pub, golf club, tennis courts and, best of all, the beach! Neighbouring Aldeburgh offers a greater selection of facilities including independent shops, galleries, award winning restaurants, golf and sailing clubs, and a cinema. Nearby Snape Maltings is home to an internationally renowned concert hall, with various concerts throughout the year.
