Gunfleet, Aldeburgh

I had an amazing stay, Gunfleet had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location was perfect—close to everything but still quiet enough to unwind after a day of exploring. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone.

My family and I had a lovely stay to celebrate a big Birthday. The house lends itself to lots of people and there is plenty of space for everyone. Perfect location on the sea front and walking distance to shops, restaurants and of course the sea. Some lovely dog walks too along the coast too. Would recommend.

The best weekend for hubby’s 60th! 14 adults making the most of this idyllic location and weather. The accommodation is homely. The bathrooms are clean , the rooms/beds are comfy. Two kitchens which is a dilemma but we just used the one on the upper ground floor. We ate outside for every meal )weather amazing) but would have struggled to seat 14 indoors together if it was a winter break. Beach on the doorstep, so swam before breakfast every morning. Listening to the sea as we fell asleep was blissful and we would definitely return again. Would recommend The Suffolk restaurant, a walk to Thorpeness and a row on the lake. There is also yoga at Fishers and some brilliant gin tours there too.

Gunfleet is a beautiful home from home. Everything has been thought of and it’s extremely comfortable, very spacious, luxurious without being stuffy, and lovely and warm for our winter stay. Very comfortable beds, fabulous bathrooms, great kitchens and living spaces and beautiful artwork and furniture throughout. We were a group of 7 and there was space for many more than that. The house is perfectly situated on the sea front but also within walking distance of everything Aldeburgh has to offer. We loved our stay and highly recommend Gunfleet

Gunfleet was absolutely everything we had hoped it would be, and more, for our multi-generational birthday celebrations. So much so that we’re booking again for next year! We absolutely loved all the art work – that was a real treat. And all the little unmentioned extras, like picnic set, deck chairs and beach shoes, are a lovely touch. Really great place for extended family breaks, tasteful decor and furnishings, extremely well equipped, and right by the beach – you couldn’t ask for more.

We booked this lovely house so we could celebrate a BIG birthday together as a family … and we all had the very loveliest time. An icy wind was blowing down from the Arctic but the house was well heated and cosy inside. The view and sound of the sea were mesmerising – and several of the party braved the waves for invigorating early morning dips. It’s a lovely, family home stuffed with plenty of kitchen gadgets, cutlery, crockery etc as well as some useful bits and bobs like cooking oil, spices etc. Loads of board games. Good exercise going up and downstairs between the 2 kitchens which some might find challenging but fine for most. Lovely little terrace out the back which I imagine would be great on a balmy summer’s evening. Plenty of shops and good restaurants nearby if you want a break from the cooking. Just a fabulous getaway home – which we can’t wait to return to.

Superb house, great location. Perfect for large group/2 families – great top floor where kids could retreat and watch tv etc without adults being bothered by them! 2 top floor balconies, great for having drinks on, in the evening sun. Basic charcoal bbq on back ground floor terrace. Very well equipped kitchens (although as others have said – microwave and freezer only in downstairs kitchen which could be annoying if house is split for 2 families to use separately) Very tasteful decor. Plenty of bathrooms and space. Literally on the beach. Barely 5 minutes walk from the centre of Aldeburgh. Would 100% recommend, and will book again if we can!!

This was our first time staying in Aldeburgh as we usually stay in Southwold. The large house we stayed in was stunning. Very well furnished and kitted out. It was like being in an upmarket hotel. Very clean and well appointed, we couldn’t fault it and would highly recommend. Being on a quiet road not far from the high street and overlooking the sea it’s position was perfect.
