Beautiful cosy, roomy cottage perfect for a relaxing break in this idyllic coastal part of Suffolk. Located perfectly near the centre of sleepy Thorpeness, a few minutes walk to the mere and its two local cafes. Nearby Aldeburgh can easily be reached by car or a coastal walk and offers a great selection of shops and cafes – perfect for a sausage roll and hot chocolate before your walk back! I didn’t quite master the art of starting a fire in the log burner but it wasn’t really needed anyway as the lounge was so cosy. Our highlights of the cottage were the Christmas tree, the radio ( for Christmas music) the breakfast bar ( for eating late night ice cream) and the amazing shower. Thank you so much for our pre-Christmas wind down !

A nice cottage in a wonderful location.

Had a fabulous stay at Bay Cottage. Everything you need is supplied. Lovely to cosy up in front of the log burner on a cold December night! Spacious new shower room and clean and tidy throughout. Comfy sofa, and very comfy beds. Close to the beach and only a 40 minute stroll to Aldeburgh sea front (or 5 minute drive!) Great food served at the Kitchen@Thorpeness. A great place to relax and unwind. We had a small problem with the radiators and Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages came out and sorted within the hour. Great service. We definitely want to come back.

We had a great stay at Bay cottage. Set in the heart of Thorpness and yet very peaceful with off road parking. The cottage has everything you could want for a relaxing holiday and is only a couple of hundred yards from a really nice pub.The cottage is dog friendly and both of ours loved playing in the secure garden. Thorpeness is less than 2 miles from Aldeburgh which has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. We would highly recommend a holiday at Bay cottage.

Bright well appointed cottage within easy walking of the Meare and Dolphin pub. Garden is not huge but lots of privacy surrounded by mature planting on two sides. Could not name many of the plants. Lounge is spacious with a huge TV. Most of facilities such as cooker, bathroom, furniture and boiler well upgraded and new. Cleanliness is at a 10/10. level. Thorpeness is a quirky, attractive unusual resort with a laidback and spacious ambience. Many of the side roads are unmade and given over to wild flowers along edge and surprised it is not more well known which in itself a boon.

What a gorgeous tucked away gem of a find…. a beautiful, clean and ideally placed cottage in the heart of Thorepness. A stones throw from everything you need. Plenty of room for us all. Beautiful place, we would most definitely return… in a heartbeat, thank you…

An absolute gem ! We are Airbnb owners ourselves and have stayed at many air bnb houses in many different countries and this has to be one of our favourites. Just the perfect location. Great pub. Great cafe for breakfast and coffee and easy walking distance to the beach ! Perfect

This is just a beautifully designed holiday space. We loved our short weekend break here and felt extremely relaxed afterwards. The log fire was fantastic and so cosy. Our four-legged friend had a whale of a time and loved exploring the garden and all the walks around the area. We will definitely be back here again. What a little gem. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay at Bay cottage. It truly was a fabulous weekend away and I would love to go back sometime.
Nicola Darling – October 2020
This cottage is far bigger than it looks! Wonderful inside and plenty of outdoor space to chill outside. Space for two cars too and 2 mins walk from the meare and 5 mins to beach
Simone Gubbins – August 2020
Absolutely beautiful cottage. We had a lovely stay and could fault a thing. I’ll definitely be booking again soon! The customer service was superb, the ladies I spoke to were so helpful and friendly.

‘Instant relaxation’ – Excellent location, with local amenities. Walking on beach to Aldeburgh taking some fish and chips and return to Thorpeness is a good day out. On the other hand there’s plenty of walking around the Warren to view nature and bird life. The mere was closed being Winter season but the cafes and antiques centre are open. The property is well maintained – our second visit here in 12 months and it has hardly changed. all the essential facilities on hand. Pet friendly, I noted there was even towels to dry off dogs.
Stephen L, Peterborough – January 2020
Cosy stay in peaceful Thorpeness. Dolphin pub good for food and the delights of Aldeburgh within walking distance.
Ian Dyer – December 2019
We had a great time! Cottage was comfy and a bit more spacious than we were expecting which was nice. We liked that it had a well supplied kitchen with pots & pans, coffee pot, tin foil, spices/oils etc. Thorpeness and the surrounding area were lovely, we were there in off season so lots of walks on long empty pebble beaches and in the marshes. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Owen – November 2019
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Was very clean and perfect location for exploring the coast and Thorpeness. Great little garden which even in Autumn was still lovely and safe for our dog. Would definitely visit again.
