We had a great stay in 5 The Haven. The house accommodated us easily with plenty of space to socialise, sleep, cook and eat. The house has a modern kitchen and bathrooms but with lots of lovely rustic features and decor. We loved reading about the history of the house. The view of the Meare is wonderful and Thorpeness is a great location in itself and also in terms of accessing the local area. We would definitely return!

This is a really nice house overlooking the water and in perfect striking distance for Aldeburgh, Snape, Southwold etc. The rooms – especially the kitchen/dining/sitting room floor – are much bigger than you’d guess from looking at the pictures on this website, and the whole place is in really good nick. It also has the best-equipped kitchen of any rental cottage I’ve ever been to – proper knives, pans etc but also stuff like a big le Creuset casserole, a fish kettle, a funky lemon squeezer and generally any implement you could possibly need for some ambitious cooking. The bathrooms etc are of a similar standard. In short, highly recommended.

This was an amazing house – so clean upon arrival and so much more than we expected in the property. A perfect location for walking along the beach all the way to Aldeburgh for fish and chips on the beach. The dolphin pub up the road provided a fantastic Saturday night dinner. Somewhere we’d love to return to soon!

The house was amazing and had every possible thing you could need. We had fabulous weather the whole week and spent nearly all our time around and about the garden just watching the world go by. Opposite the mere there was always something going on with people out on boats. The beach was on our doorstep as well. Would stay there again in a heartbeat

We had a brilliant time at The Haven and the house is exactly what we needed. It was really well equipped for a big group – comfy beds and great bathrooms and we had lots of great dinners both inside, and outside on the table over looking the Thorpeness Meare. The view is truly lovely and it’s so close to the beach too. We had a great time doing lots of walking (Aldeburgh is a lovely walk along the coast), and exploring local towns. Thank you so much for having us we would definitely come back!

We had a wonderful stay despite the weather. The house is perfectly located, walking distance to the beach, pub, golf-club and with a glorious outlook onto the meare. The interior is clean and lovingly refurbished and the kitchen is very well kitted out – we even baked during our stay.
