Customer Reviews
Great place to stay – well equipped and comfortable.
Jane – Sep 2023
Great location, comfortable with most things you would need for a stay at Thorpeness. Great communication with host.
Katharine – July 2023
We enjoyed our holiday very much and had a wonderful time.
Sabrina – June 2023
We really enjoyed the house. I think it’s more spacious than it looks in the pictures. The kitchen is fully equipped and there were useful things like buckets and spades for the kids. The location is fantastic. The (pebble) beach is literally across the road and the Meare is a short walk away and a lot of fun. It’s worth knowing that there’s a Nespresso machine but no pods.

Nothing bad to say about this place – just perfect in every way! Thanks so much – loved staying at your place!
Amelia – December 2022

A quick note to say a big thankyou, to you and the team, for making our visit to 2 Ogilvie Lodge (yet) another fantastic stay in Thorpeness. We always look for properties ACC have on their books simply because of the outstanding service and standard of accommodation you provide. 2 Ogilvie Court is a homely, well equipped property, with a perfect position just a couple of minutes from the beach. It is very comfortable, well maintained, and of course membership of the Thorpeness Country Club included in the booking cost. We look forward to our 3rd visit this year to Thorpeness, via ACC, of course! Best Regards – Adrian and Teresa

Lovely comfy home just seconds from the shingle beach. Thorpeness is a unique village (look for the reprint of the 1920s guide to the village – most amusing). Had everything we needed for comfortable stay for whole family (aged between 2 and 70-something). Thank you!
William – May 2022
Fantastic accommodation, really well equipped and tastefully decorated to a high spec. Great location. Would recommend dining at the Dolphin and walking along the beach to visit Aldeburgh too. Would definitely stay here again! We had a great time.
Sharon – May 2022
Great location for a surprise family trip away. Perfect living area and kitchen for 6 of us to cook and eat together with the beach on your doorstop. Highly recommended
Daniel – April 2022
Lovely house and perfect location with the tennis courts behind and the beach just over the road in front. My kids (11 and 14) spent every spare hour on the tennis courts which gave my wife and I time to have a cup of tea on the beach, perfect!

A really nice, well equipped cottage with everything we needed. All the bedrooms are a good size, the bathrooms are well equipped and the living area was spacious and light. Location is really good, a few yards from the beach and a very short walk to the pub, golf club and restaurant. Parking was easy.

Fantastic location!. Stayed over October half term for a few days. Location was excellent very close to the beach and the centre of Thorpe ness. Although the weather was grim we got out for some bracing walks in the local area. Dolphin pub is a must for dinner amazing vegan menu. House was very comfortable. Bedrooms were large and we loved the triple aspect main bedroom. Easy to park as well. Really nice surrounds of the country club. Would love to go back again. Thanks for a great stay!

Our first Airbnb, surely they can’t all be as good as this place? A party of 4, we had a couple drop out at the last minute due to COVID issues. Lovely location, fantastically equipped, spotlessly clean could not have asked for more. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Exceeded all expectations, fantastic location, fantastically equipped, beautifully presented house.

Great location and right in the heart of all the amenities. The Lodge is right on the beach although a sea view is only possible upstairs. There was plenty of room for a family of four and the place was comfortable with all the usual facilities. The accommodation was clean and well presented. Care had been taken to ensure that Covid concerns were minimal. There was plenty of parking space out front and use of the Country Club facilities would be a real bonus when things are back to normal. Eating out is limited in Thorpeness itself although the Dolphin Inn was excellent, other local eateries require a car drive. All in all a very pleasant break in a unique venue.

‘Perfect accommodation for a family staycation’ – 2 Ogilvie Lodge is situated within the Thorpeness Country Club. The Beach is literally just across the road and the Mere is a 2 minute walk away. Aldeburgh can be accessed by way of a very pleasant 30 minute walk, a 10 minute bike ride or 5 minute car journey. Most people tend to choose the former options in peak season as parking in Aldeburgh can be a problem. During late July and August there is a weekly array of childrens activities organised by Country Club and the twice weekly Bingo sessions are not to be missed – they are an absolute riot! The House itself has a spacious ground-floor lounge, a well-equipped kitchen and a storage area for Beach necessities etc.. The first floor has a double bedroom and separate bathroom plus a further double bedroom with ensuite shower and toilet. A door on the second floor leads up to a third bedroom which is an ideal hideaway for the kids: our grandchildren loved it. There was not much evidenced of Covid during our stay although parking in Aldeburgh has been reduced in the High Street to allow more social distancing. We used the Coop in Leiston for any supermarket shopping that we had to do. The set up there is the best that I have come across during this pandemic. All checkouts are screened and the staff looked entirely relaxed in their work. There is plenty of free parking and access to the store is automatic and controlled by a set of traffic lights! Well done Coop.
